Though Flip’s playing days weren’t too long ago, the leaps the Bok team has made since his retirement is something he gets to quantify well for you here.
October has been a vibe on the sporting front! It’s an absolute whirlwind of happenings for us to catch up on here, so we have assembled the full team with Kate Nokwe returning. We know you can’t watch everything in a sporting sense, so let’s bring you up to speed on it all right here.
He’s one of SA cricket’s brightest young prospects, and is about to shine once again in the Betway SA20. It’s none other than Kwena Maphaka, and he joins the guys here to talk about the whirlwind start to his career as a teenage sensation. With the Betway SA20 being such a proud promoter of youth talent, Kwena also shares his experiences in the tournament so far, and what he is most excited about going into the 4th edition.
What better way to celebrate Heritage Day than debating who South Africa’s greatest ever sports person is! For such a weighty topic, the guys welcome back their favourite Greek, Dimitri Leontakianakis. In a whirlwind hour not only are all of SA’s finest mentioned, but you may also be convinced that the greatest of all time is someone different to whom you originally thought.
As Ben gets ready to attend the Ryder Cup in America, the guys turn the spotlight onto special team events within sport this week. Joining them for the topic, and to share some dynamic ideas on this topic, it’s sports journalist Kate Nokwe. Together the three of them find new ways to revitalise sport fan experiences, and perhaps even put more sports on the map in general. There really is nothing this show can’t do right now.
Nothing will ever be bigger in cricket than the IPL, but now heading into its 4th season, the SA20 has truly become a big deal in the global game. To showcase this Ben and Sandile move the studio this week to the official SA20 auction, and with that bring you a larger than life show featuring big names behind the event.
Sport was always going to be a massive part of Maps Maponyane’s life. The son of a local football icon, he embraced these sporting passions and his love for creativity to ultimately forge a unique path of his own. Ben and Shaz discuss this with him, along with all the latest football kits for the new season. Something that reveals some essential guy style do’s and dont’s.
Is the hype real for LIV Golf events? The first one is coming to South Africa in March 2026, so Ben welcomes Chris Bentley from LIV Golf to give you a better understanding of just what this event is going to be like for golf and non golf fans. For some added substance on the matter, SA golf guy OG Molefe is also on the coach this week, rounding off a solid golfing panel for the show.
Many didn’t think it was possible that the Boks could be humbled at home. But they have been, and most worryingly, they have been by Australia. The Ellis Park test caused a major shockwave through the nation, so much so that there are suddenly a lot more questions than answers on the table. To sort this out for us, Harry Jones from the Lekker Rugby Pod joins us to share his wonderful rugby mind.
Nothing makes South Africans happier than being Rugby World Cup champions. John Smit is one of the three men to have led his nation to such a feat, and in this episode he shares the start to finish experience of doing this in 2007. He and Ben unpack all kinds of things by going match to match from the tournament. A tournament that will forever live in the hearts of SA rugby fans.
We gave football some space, but now it is time to get back into the thick of it with a massive show to usher in the new season. Senior Reporter from Soccer Laduma, Tshepang Mailwane joins the guys in studio for this. Which is great news as his actual insights and professionalism add huge integrity to Sandile thinking Man United is back, and Ben once again being adamant that this will be Arsenal’s season.
SuperRugby was once an incredible tournament. From a South African perspective, there was no better time in it than when the Bulls won it 3 times in 4 years. To elaborate on this golden rugby period, ex-Bulls and Springbok centre Wynand Olivier joins Ben in studio for a rugby chat for the ages. No matter who you support, this is an episode for everyone to get behind.

With that naturally comes all kinds of fascinating and bizarre stories in sports, so strap yourself in for another bumper session of laughs and info. As Sandile is in Ibiza, Ben decided that this is a good week to have a big golf show. To make this happen OG Molefe and Msizi James join him in studio. As it’s Open Championship week there is much to cover around that, plus some first impressions of LIV Golf after Ben’s trip to Valderrama, why Joburg is the best golf city, and why all grown men should be playing golf.
What’s really happening in the PSL with team ownerships and changing of ownership and general acquiring of spots in SA’s top flight? If there is one person that can get us closer to whatever truth is out there, it’s Nqobile Ndlovu. Someone who has made a name for himself over the years doing the hard yards behind the scenes in following the cash in sport. The guys welcome him into studio on the latest around Bloem Celtic’s return to the PSL, and the key role players in this and so much more.

The Bokke are back, and have one helluva season ahead starting out with a warm up against the Barbarians. Then it’s full steam ahead with a variety of mouthwatering matches that we have to unpack at length. Joining the guys to do so is a man that brings the heat come match days on the mic in the stadiums, whilst also being a perennial kykNET heartthrob. It’s the one and only Robbie Kruse.
It’s the greatest tour in all of sport! The British and Irish Lions rugby tour. This time out they are heading for another expected series win over the Wallabies. Will they, won’t they, is the tour still such a big deal? Ex-Irish international and tour member of the 1980 Lions team John Robbie joins the guys in studio to answer this, and so much more.
With over 100 caps for the Bulls franchise, ex-Springbok winger Akona Ndungane is the ideal man to talk URC finals with. The guys welcome him to studio to unpack the big match, how the tournament is progressing in general, along with having a look at the first Springbok squad for the year. Akona will naturally have to run the gauntlet of a Shaz throwdown to wrap this all up, so settle in and enjoy.
The Proteas have another shot at ICC silverware, and for this the guys welcome SA’s biggest cricket fan Josh Margolis to studio. His love for the game aside, nobody cuts to the key insights around this match like Josh, so settle in for a bumper cricket episode here, and a session that will have you extra excited for that first ball at Lords on June 11th.
