Each episode we will explore the darkest nightmare ever committed to celluloid by looking at the film in 74 second slices (or 1 minute and 14 seconds to be precise) in an ode to the year of its release. As we battle the Texas heat, avoid Hitchhikers, and decline at the table as we go Off the Hook and hack apart the mad and the macabre of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s gonna be a fun trip! And remember-there are moments when we cannot believe what is happening is actually true. But pinch yourself and you might find out that it is.

OFF THE HOOK: A TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE PODCAST
EPISODE 4 3:44-4:49

Apologies for the delay in this week's episode, Mike was off dealing with a small matter.

This week, we start our journey out of the opening credits and towards the narrative proper. We discuss Hooper's foreshadowing with the angry and unhelpful Sun bearing down on our travelers, and the appearance of roadkill. Rebecca makes comparisons to the use of the solar flares here to Hitchcock's use of spirals in Vertigo. Mike discusses the cultural shifts and social upheaval that are reflected throughout Chain Saw. all this and so much more as we travel down the dusty backwater roads of Texas.

OFF THE HOOK: A TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE PODCAST
Episode 3: 2:28-3:42 "A World of Chaos and Fire"

In our latest installment, Mike and Rebecca continue our discussion of the grotesque corpse perched and posed atop the monument. Plus, the ominous newscast reveals the chaotic world that has devolved into anarchy. We get our first allusions to Watergate as a newscaster discusses the convening of a grand jury while elsewhere crime and terror run rampant. In what can only be described as the timeliest of coincidences, the broadcast concludes with the locals, angry and afraid as their loved ones' eternal slumber has been disturbed, begin pointing fingers at unknown and invisible "outsiders" for these horrid crimes.

OFF THE HOOK: A TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE PODCAST
Episode 2: A Monument To Decay and Death

Rebecca and Mike continue their van ride down the dusty roads of backwater Texas. This segment begins at 1 minute and 15 seconds and concludes at 2 minute and 29 seconds and we start with a black screen and the sound of digging before a camera flash exposes some macabre discoveries and we end with a somewhat cheesy looking corpse baking in the sun as a radio declares there has been some ‘grave robbing’ in Texas.
