Born from my own struggle with grief and the social anxiety that followed, this piece reflects the strength I found in Musa’s prayer: not asking for an army, but simply for his chest to be expanded and his speech made clear. In this episode, I introduce my 28:24 necklace — a delicate, minimal 18k gold-plated pendant with the ayah number carved in Arabic. Inspired by the powerful du‘a of Prophet Musa (AS) when he fled from Pharaoh and asked Allah simply for “whatever provision You send down,” this piece is a reminder of surrender, patience, and trust in divine timing. During one of the loneliest seasons of my life abroad, this du‘a became my daily prayer, and Allah granted me more than I could have imagined — community, marriage, stability, and hope. When the Sahaba would ask the Prophet PBUH questions about Allah or about Islam, Allah would respond with “tell them”. But in this ayah of the Quran, Allah says ‘When My servants ask you about Me, I am truly near’ (Quran 2:186), to signify that not even the Prophet PBUH is between us and Allah, and that we have a direct relationship and nearness to Allah.

I created this piece as a physical reminder for me for how close Allah is when I’m going through seasons of loneliness or misalignment to where I actually want to go in life. This piece is minimal and subtle but heavy.
