The New Education Policy is the first piece of reform that has made me feel that there is still a ray of hope for India. I think that the policy has ambitious and most importantly - measurable - goals that the government can be held accountable to. I think it’s a long overdue reform, and a step in the right direction. It’s still to be seen how this sweeping change will be implemented, and hopefully it won’t be completely botched up or too disruptive like changes before it, but it is clear something has to be done to educate India’s massive young population before it’s too late and I think this policy addresses some important failings of the current education system.
