 I had just woke up and was sitting in the ~O~ Karaoke Lounge, when in came Luna saying she is ready to see if she can stream. i said go ahead, so she did. Although she needs to fine tune her mixer, she sounded great. i expect that she will be performing in Second Life as soon as she gets fine tuned..Luna is a great example of what comes through the ~O~ Lounge then on to do shows .. We get to hear her "demo tape" before she hits the road seeking her fame and fortune in Second Life.

  Kris is a performer in Second Life and one of the best.. I met him when he popped into the ~O~ Lounge one day.. he asked me about live video streaming  so I explained to him how we did it using Ustream. He asked all the right questions so I knew we would be seeing some live video shows one day. When I went to one of his first live video shows I noticed he had multiple camera shots rotating thru his show.. the student had become the teacher with one simple lesson.When I asked him how it was done he explained he was using a more sophisticated program and gave me the name..   On the ~O~ Lounge's 10th anniversary, we booked a number of people for 30 minute sets. We asked that those people either do a dual stream (singing live with someone at another location), or a live video stream..Kris chose to do a 30 minute live video stream..  I recently re-visited the youtube video and here is the link for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edOjVsUfoj0 I hope to post the video on this podcast once i get the proper permissions..

 There have been at least 6 couples who met each other online in the ~O~ Karaoke Lounge and went on to live together and/or get married in Real Life. Ants and Katyana are one such couple. They share their interesting experience as well as some funny SL experiences.. Included is the song Ants wrote for Katyana.. i'll get a cleaner version from him to post.  Elvera Lerner co-hosted this interview and shares her online experience and subsequent marriage as well.  Scheduling  people in Australia, England and So. California is not easy. it was 10:30 pm  down under, 1:00 pm across the pond, and 5:00 am for me in So. Cal . I'm am thankful Elvera realized I wasn't fully awake and carried the show.. 

While walking around looking for someone to chat with i ran into Winter Blixen . He's a performer in Second life with a busy schedule. I've heard wonderful things that winter has been doing with his "Together As One" charity drives that he runs providing support for children's ' charities.. I was blown away at how much money that has been raised.. His initial experiences in second life are very fun to hear about..

Monkey Canning played a huge part in the success of the ~O~ Karaoke lounge, starting with the performer queue board he developed to the security systems we have today.. this is a fascinating story

In part 1 Laya Sugarplum and Canipanic Maslow talk about the beginnings of the Cafe Musique and it's relationship to the ~O~ Karaoke Lounge. We also talk about some things the Cafe does to help new singers.   In part 2 we will discuss many of the things Laya and the staff at Cafe Musique do with those new singers..Since Feb 2015 we have been managing, teaching & supporting new musicians, &  getting them ready for the SL live music scene at no cost to them.  Our established musicians support us in our mission by performing at the cafe for tips only.  Our passionate team of hosts volunteer their time.  The Cafe really is music for music lovers, by music lovers. Koke is one of Second Life's top singers.He stops by from time to time and we love hearing him.

After trying for months to do karaoke in second life, I  gave up. then one day Mittzy Tiger said  "I love this song, mute your mic". So I did and she played the backing track over her speakers and locked her mic on .. She was in sync. that was the day karaoke/open mic was born in Second Life.
