Nyhedsbrev fra Tyttebærhuset
2511 - Nyhedsbrev November

Welcome to The Tyttebærhuset Newsletter Podcast. This episode gives you a glimpse of what’s happening in the kindergarten right now – both big and small updates. Today, we’ll talk about new children and staff, November activities, a little holiday magic with elves, and a special invitation to our art exhibition and open house.

A big thank you to everyone who joined the parent meeting. We hope you took home something useful. Your input will be discussed at the board meeting on November 6th, and the staff has already reviewed several points at the meeting on November 3rd.

We’re still working on a better solution for handling water bottles. For now, children can keep them in the cloakroom or in their bags as usual. We’ll share updates as soon as we have them.

New Children and Staff
We’re happy to welcome Pelle and Solveig to Group 3.
On the staff side, there are a few changes. Trine has resigned, and her last working day will be November 28th.
We’ve posted a job opening for an assistant – ideally with experience and perhaps a pedagogical assistant qualification. We’re also looking into whether we can hire a teacher. Please share the job posting widely so we can attract great candidates.

Christiane is working 34 hours a week until the end of December, and we hope to extend her contract – though she’ll be taking a longer vacation in January.
Sofus is with us as a substitute until December 2nd, after which he’ll be heading to the USA.
Eva will start as a paid student on December 1st and stay until the end of May.
Lilli and Berit are both scheduled for sick leave – Lilli from October 28th and Berit from November 24th – and we’ll receive reimbursement under §56.

A nationwide user satisfaction survey is currently underway for all municipal daycare services. It’s conducted by Statistics Denmark on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior and Health and Local Government Denmark.
We hope you’ll take the eight minutes it requires to respond. Your answers are important and will be used in dialogue with the municipality, the board, and the staff.
You’ll find the invitation in your Digital Post – for example, in e-Boks.

Would you like a glimpse into how we work with children aged 0–6 across the municipality?
Follow everyday moments, pedagogical stories, and news on the Facebook page Dagtilbud i Silkeborg Kommune.

Activities in November
Group 1 is wrapping up its music program with Fabulatoriet and carving little elves to decorate the Christmas tree at Rema.
Group 2 is getting into the holiday spirit with a visit to Museum Silkeborg and collecting horse manure for the herb garden.
All children are playing with water, practicing putting on rain gear, raking leaves, and digging in the garden.

Elves at Play
In December, we’ll play that elves exist. If children don’t believe in elves, we simply say it’s a game.
The elves will transform the houses so there’s holiday magic from the very first weekday in December.
In Blåbærhuset, the elves won’t move in until the children have decorated – that happens in the last week of November.
Please allow a little extra time for drop-off on December 1st.

Art Exhibition and Open House
We’re excited to invite you to our art exhibition and open house at Tyttebærhuset:
The opening for family and friends will be Thursday, November 20th, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.
Open house for everyone will be Friday, November 21st, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM.
It all takes place in Troldestuen at Julsøvej 118 in Silkeborg.
Come and see the children’s artwork, learn about their creative process, and enjoy a tour of the building, which has been a school, a youth center, and, since 1992, a kindergarten.

Summary
Before we wrap up, just a quick reminder of what’s coming up. The art exhibition is on November 20th and 21st. The elves move in on the first weekday in December, so plan a little extra time for drop-off that day. Lucia will be celebrated on December 12th, and the calendar will soon be updated in Aula.

Nyhedsbrev fra Tyttebærhuset
2510 Nyhedsbrev Oktober

English:

New Children

First, a warm welcome to Valdemar, who has joined Group 1. We’re so happy to have you with us!

We’re also delighted to welcome Christiane, who has joined us as a temporary assistant from September 18th through December 31st. You may have already met her, as she started out in Blåbærhuset with Group 1.
This week, we also have Anna with us for her school internship.
And an important note: Lilli will be having hip surgery on October 28th and will be on sick leave for an extended period. Parents of children in Group 3 should contact Elizabeth for any primary concerns about their child. Of course, the rest of us are also here to help.

We had a fantastic staff day – completely child-free – and it was only possible thanks to your great support. A big thank you to all of you!
The day was filled with practical exercises, inspiring presentations, and meaningful discussions. We’re confident the children will benefit from this in the long run.
We explored how outdoor activities can enhance children’s well-being, development, and learning. We also had an inspiring session with NaturMette about the potential of nature, plus a talk from VIA University College on movement, learning, and nature. Finally, Morten Kirckhoff gave us a thought-provoking presentation on discovering new experiences and finding courage in everyday life.

It’s almost time for this year’s parent meeting. It will take place on October 29th from 7:00 to 9:30 PM at Sejs School in the south wing – entrance by the parking lot on Tyttebærvej.
Please respond as soon as possible via the link on Aula so we can prepare the agenda based on your input.
This year, we’ll be evaluating the connection between parental involvement in events and children’s inclusion in the community. That’s why we’re asking you to complete a short questionnaire included with the invitation. If you prefer not to answer online, you can pick up a paper version at Tyttebærhuset.

A nationwide user satisfaction survey is currently being conducted for all municipal daycare services. It’s organized by Statistics Denmark on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior and Health and Local Government Denmark.
The goal is to gather your feedback to help improve quality. The questions cover topics like educational efforts, physical facilities, well-being, and cooperation between parents and staff.
We hope you’ll take the eight minutes it requires to respond. You’ll find the invitation in your Digital Post, and the survey runs from October 1st until January 2026. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Our art project is still in full swing, with all children and staff working on it at different times. Group 1 will soon create a collaborative artwork using light, so they’ll need to bring something that lights up – for example, a lightsaber, a bike light, or a small string of lights.
This year, we’ll host the art exhibition here at Tyttebærhuset, as the Citizens’ Association couldn’t secure a venue in November. Invitations will follow, but we expect the opening for parents to be on Thursday, November 20th, and an open house on Friday, November 21st. The children will help plan and host the event – and who knows, they might even offer a little refreshment at the opening!
In addition, schoolchildren will visit on October 23rd, and the music sessions with Fabulatoriet continue every Tuesday.

Before we wrap up, here’s a quick overview of what to keep in mind. The parent meeting is on October 29th, and Lilli will go on sick leave after her hip surgery on October 28th. The art exhibition will take place on November 20th and 21st, and Lucia will be celebrated on December 12th at 8:00 AM in Sejs Church. And don’t forget to complete the user satisfaction survey before Christmas.

For the english speakers:

Here is the English translation of your message:⸻

Welcome to Group 3 A warm welcome to: September 1st: Atlas, Pelle N, Hamilton, Lauge, Faber, Emil September 16th: August

Hiring an Assistant We are working on hiring a pedagogical assistant. If you know someone who might be interested, the position is open. See the posting: Vacant pedagogical assistant position in the kindergarten “Tyttebærhuset” – with the forest department “Blåbærhuset”

Supervision We have had unannounced pedagogical supervision from the municipality in both Blåbærhuset and Tyttebærhuset. Group 1 answered questions from the little dog “Spørge Børge,” who asked:

Do you have any good friends in kindergarten?

Do you prefer playing outside or inside?

Are there any adults you think are really nice?

The children gave both funny and thoughtful answers – and shared lovely stories. The results will be discussed during the supervision meeting on September 24th with the pedagogical consultant, a parent, and staff.

Activities – See more on Aula: Harvest Festival You can watch a video of the children from the Harvest Festival in Tyttebærhuset Kindergarten 2023. We are fully engaged in harvest activities:

Picking blackberries, blueberries, and plums from the playground.

Harvest Festival on September 10th: All children bring fruit, vegetables, or flowers from the roadside or garden for our big harvest table. We sing, dance, and taste everything.

Apple Pressing We hope some children can bring apples – even windfall apples. If you know someone with lots of apples, we’re happy to pick them up!

Art Project All children have made paper and are now working in small groups drawing and painting on it.

Nature Week – Week 36 We are once again participating in Nature Week and receiving inspiring materials that we use in our daily activities – not just during week 36.

Photographer Group photo on September 15th at 13:15 in Tyttebærhuset. Group 1 will return home an hour earlier from Blåbærhuset.

Little Children Sing Groups 1 and 2 will participate in a singing concert at Bindslevsplads: September 11th – departure from Tyttebærhuset at 9:00

Fabulatoriet – Music Program Group 1 will be visited by Fabulatoriet and make music with Lene from the Creative School. Tuesdays from September 2nd to November 25th Note: Children must arrive before 9:00 on these days – regardless of whether they are in Tyttebærhuset or Blåbærhuset.

Staff Day – September 12th Thank you to those who can take the day off or have found alternative arrangements. AI Translation:

We hope everyone had a great summer vacation and has gathered new energy for everyday life. We welcome: Valentin in group 1, Anker in group 2, and Eskild in group 3. We are already getting to know you!

Breakfast
Breakfast is not something we emphasize much, as parents generally prioritize that children have breakfast at home. If there are children who haven't eaten, we offer rye bread with butter and cheese before 7:30 AM.

Bus Departure
The bus to Blåbærhuset is for children who arrive before 7:30 AM – unless a special arrangement has been made with Berit. We hope it is possible for most to drop off directly at Blåbærhuset, where we open at 7:30 AM. This saves both time and bus tickets. But we always find a solution that suits you.

Candy from Birthdays
We prefer that children do not take home candy bags or other items after a birthday. We would like what is served to be eaten at the birthday itself – whether it is celebrated here at the kindergarten or at home, as group 1 has the opportunity to invite.

Information Meeting on 21.8.2025
We invite children who started in the spring, as well as new children and their parents, to an information meeting. Here you can meet each other, ask questions, and gain greater insight into our daily life. We would also like to elaborate on why we do what we do. Registration via SMS on Aula. The invitation can be seen on the Aula calendar. We apologize for previously sending out an incorrect date to some.

Podcast
Anders Torvald Nielsen has created a podcast as an experiment. Perhaps it can be helpful for those who commute to have the newsletter read aloud?

Inspection
We will have an unannounced inspection one day between 11.8 and 22.8. Additionally, there is an inspection meeting on 24.9, where our chairman Anders T. participates as a parent representative.

Activities
New Children
The new children will explore the house's possibilities and get to know peers and adults.

Harvest
We harvest what we can find in nature, on the playground, and in the herb garden. Right now, we are picking and tasting mirabelles. If we find blueberries, we will make blueberry ice cream, which we will have at the harvest festival. See more in the Aula calendar.

Art Project
We make recycled paper from drawings that have just been crumpled together. It is a sensory challenge for some children to have their fingers in the water with the pulp or in the wet paper before it is blended into pulp. Later, we will draw and paint on the paper as a start to our art project. Throughout the fall, we will work through various creative processes, which may be exhibited – and which you might wish for as a Christmas gift?

Upcoming Dates

  • Information Meeting: 21.8.2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
  • Staff Day on 12.9 - Where we would like help with childcare - see Aula
  • Parent Meeting: 30.10.2025 at 7:00 PM, at Sejs School, invitation to follow
