Imagine attending church with a view of learning everything you can about God and His Book of Instruction, in order to share with everyone you come into contact with during the week! Most of us can't wait for the sermon to be over, or we so easily forget everything we've heard from a sermon. But how specific are we in what we want to obtain from our church service and the sermon especially.
Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate with me on this familiar scripture. Although many looked down on lepers, they displayed some qualities that may prompt us to seek after. Be blessed as you look to God for His word to you.
Can you do it? Be honest in your business dealings and true to God, that is. Listen to my podcast and be reminded of what God approves of, and what He frowns at.
Decide this day who you will serve? You can do this, child of God! Be bold! Be Brave! Be Strong!
Ministering in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is not for the weak or for those who can't handle ridicule. It's not because our generation has become hardened, obstinate, or determined to destroy Christians, but merely because Satan is constantly seeking to destroy the work of God, and he brings his army into action to kill, steal and destroy the work of the innocent endeavoring to promote their awesome God. Unfortunately, this is not just a story from the days of Nehemiah, but it is still happening in our churches today. Let's anticipate blessings as we study how God has already helped others in much the same way that we need His help today.
As I prepare my notes for publishing my thoughts, I often think about what a non-believer must think who happens across my Nuggets from the Word of God. So I spent some time studying and thinking about what the Bible means when it refers to ‘The godly’, or as the Amplified and several other versions refer to this cross-section of people – ‘The righteous’. I believe that God might challenge you today as you meditate on this devotional with me.
There are many excuses we give for not sharing our story with others nor the wonderful love of Jesus and the amazing sacrifice that He made, just for His children who accept Him as Lord and Savior. But as we remind ourselves of the great counsel given to Timothy, by Paul, in these verses, I wonder if we realize how meaningless those excuses are. Continue with me so we might think about this together.
Others may stand to be blessed, and even incentivized to seek Jesus, because of something special that Jesus has placed inside of you. As you listen to the my thoughts from the story of Lazarus, perhaps you might be reminded of someone constantly waiting to share their heart with you. Perhaps you may also think of a special friend who needs Jesus, but you've always felt intimidated about sharing Him with that friend. Lazarus did, and so can you!

Interesting how Paul found it necessary to train Timothy, and us, in ways that we should take care of the Elders, or Pastors, of our church! Wouldn’t you think that if we knew how to take care of our household, our gardener or any other hired hand, we would also know how to make sure our spiritual leaders are well taken care of? Having never heard a church member complain about us not paying our pastor enough, I wonder if we shouldn’t look closer at today’s Scripture!
With so many families split apart, and anger and resentment being the rule of the day, I sometimes wonder if we have learned absolutely nothing from the God some of us serve, and others have heard about. Please don’t insult me by saying that you don’t believe in God, because everyone sees your dependence on Him when your close relatives become sick – to the point of death, or you awaken one day to realize that your problems are much bigger than anything you alone can possibly handle. Stay tuned as the Holy Spirit works through my simple words to open your eyes of understanding.
