After weeks of movie festival season it was time to travel back to my AMC Theaters to catch up on the start of the Summer movie season. Mission: Impossible was an absolute must as Tom Cruise (aka the President of Movies) continues to put his life on the line to keep the movie going experience alive. Just don't hold it against me if I didn't love everything I saw this week...

Actor Bjork Storm and Producer Eva Jakobsen have brought their film 'Beginnings' from Denmark to the Seattle International Film Festival to a terrific response. They sat down to talk about Danish films and stories and how the intrigue really lies in shining a light on human imperfection.
Irish filmmaker Claire Frances Byrne brought her debut film 'Ready or Not' to the Seattle International Film Festival and stopped in for a terrific chat about coming of age films, keeping storytelling authentic, and showing how universal our teenage experiences really are.
Filmmaker Amy Wang sat down to discuss 'Slanted', her feature film debut that made waves at SXSW and now SIFF. The conversation touches on filmmaking influences, navigating controversial topics, and approaching stories with reality. 'Slanted' touches on cultural identity and the influence social media continues to have on our perceptions of beauty in society. Amy, much like the film, is incredibly entertaining and helped lead a great discussion.

Multi-Hyphenate wonder Annapurna Sriram sat down to discuss her debut feature film 'Fucktoys' which played at the 51st Seattle International Film Festival. After selling out shows and merch, Annapurna reflects on the emotion behind this 8-year creative journey and speaks on her own journey as a creative that helped shape this story. It's a wonderful and informative conversation that dives into so many "taboo" topics that the film lays bare and invites the audience to witness without judgement.

In this episode, Nick Tiffany reviews several films leading into the Oscar qualification season, expressing his mixed feelings about each. He discusses Megalopolis, a passion project by Francis Ford Coppola that ultimately fell short, Rebel Ridge, which lacked the intensity he had expected, Emilia Perez, a crime musical with both engaging and disjointed elements, and Joker: Folie à Deux, which challenged his expectations but left him wanting more.
