In California in 1978, the coast was the place to be. Surfing dominated, and teenagers looked for any instance to escape with friends, light bon fires, and listen to music into the night.
One night in particular was no exception, when Jim Alt and Barbara Nantais chose to socialize at Torrey Pines State Park. The teens enjoyed their time together, finally zipping up their sleeping bag for a slumber under the stars.
But the entire world changed for Jim when he woke, freezing. He didn't realize immediately that he was covered in blood. Barely conscious, he searched for Barbara. but what he found left questions still unanswered.
