In an age where we are encouraged to know our purpose, find our why and do what makes us happy, it can feel overwhelming to know if you're going down the right path. This episode and discussion with Heather Porte, a trained actor, showed me that even the people that are the most confident in their life choices have to deal with highs and lows and actually, it's the journey that matters.
It's time to discuss being authentically you, embracing the journey and giving it your all.
Because, if not now, when?

So I fell of the wagon, big deal right? YES, huge deal! Failure is good, it is success in progress but my lapse in my focus on this challenge was a big wake up call and in this podcast episode I discuss why.
The book I reference in this is:
Start With Why by Simon Sinek
For too long alcohol has been something that I use when I am celebrating, commiserating, getting through the monotony of the day or using as an escape and I have finally come to the realisation that even in its smallest amounts, it derails me from my ambition and desire to become the best version of myself.
In this episode I discuss why I have taken on a new challenge to go sober for 75 days and why I think this essential in my quest to become the best verion of myself.
Quit Lit that I am using to fuel my sober curiosity is below!
The Sober Girl Society
Quit Like A Woman
Intrinsic - A manifesto to reignite our inner drive
Alcohol Reconsidered - Education for Moderation
In this episode I am joined by the lovely Abby Foster, the founder of Luna Gray.
Luna Gray was born out of a desire to provide women with supportive and stylish activewear that is actually incredibly comfortable but doesn't compromise on style.
I am delighted to bring you Abby's story as I found it awe-inspiring. Already a mum of two and with the knowledge that one day she knew she was going to run her own business, Luna Gray launched in the middle of a global pandemic and was immediately well-received. Of course there were a few bumps along the way and some self doubt crept in but months on from our recording and it continues to go from strength to strength with the brand is growing rapidly and gaining attention from celebrities such as Jess Wright & Samantha Faiers!
Join me in this fantastic story about learning something new everyday and trying something out, just so you know that you gave it a go.

Lulu Quinton Smith shares his journey to starting his own new podcast and why he decided that YouTube wasn't the platform for him to share his content. I genuinely love the underlying theme of this episode that touches on maturity, getting to a place of not caring what others think, Lulu's passion for the LGBTQ community and having the courage to put yourself out there.
What I learnt from this episode was that real power is embracing who you are and telling your story, in the end you'll probably have a far greater impact on others than you think and if what you are sharing positively impacts just one person then that is significant.
I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I loved recording it!

Welcome to my first episode in my exclusive New To Me podcast - usually just for my Patrons, I've released it to my public podcast just because I loved recording it so much.
A new month is a chance to reflect and refocus and that is exactly what I am talking through here.
What are your new goals and focuses for July?

When your life is threatened by a disease that knows no bounds, the joy you find in an unrestricted life of remission is incredible. But when the idea of enjoying that glass of wine or delicious meal actually starts to have an impact on your health and weight and you suddenly realise that this celebratory life you are living is becoming detrimental to the life you just fought so hard to save, you change pretty quickly and this is what happened to my friend Melissa.
This is an inspirational episode about a woman who found the strength and courage to break out of her comfort zone and take herself on yet another physical journey to become the person she knew she could be.

This week I am joined by Stacy Oakley who has taken her love of calligraphy (something that she started to help deal with her grief) and turned this new found passion into a thriving business.
I really love Stacy's enthusiasm and realisation that work can be fun and that you should do what you love! With a business that has been affected so much in the the last 12 months, it is inspirational to hear how she has pivoted and still managed to grow her company whilst juggling a 9 - 5 job, two daughters and a puppy!

After being made redundant (again!) and the tough realisation that I hadn't been following my passion or purpose in life (and I had no idea what my purpose might be) I decided to do something about it and this is me sharing that story.
Inspired by the people I get to talk to, this bonus episode is something I will do each month where I discuss what is New To Me and why I'm doing it. I am pretty excited about this first one and also incredibly nervous that it's just going to be little old me, on my own. But screw it, I want to do it and I believe that there are likeminded people out there.
So, here we go!

When I met Ruth in 2019 I had no idea that just under a year later she would leave her glamorous life of makeup to set up a Fishmonger & Pantry with her partner, Dave whilst also managing clients for her design agency.
Fast forward to February 2020 and while their hugely successful shop is closed for a brief refurbishment we were able to chat about this new business venture and how, if she had it her way the whole place would be pink.
The strength you need to set up a new business in the midst of a global pandemic is inspiring in itself but hearing that this new challenge has meant she now knows herself better and feels like she's gone back to a time where she really embraced who she was and her creativity means that I know that this conversation is only part 1 of a fantastic success story!
