MicroJudgments
"Every day, I talk to different clients from all walks of life and listen to their stories—the ones they make up about themselves and the ones they make up about others, and even more relevant for what I’m sharing here are the ones that we’ve all inherited from the world around us. Today, I speak specifically of the concept of judgment." Olivia Pool on MicroJudgments.

Why You Should Master Boring
"I have found that most people have a bit of an addiction to excitement, myself included. With the ability to hop in a car or a plane and go anywhere on the planet within minutes, or get online and immediately be entertained in some way, I believe that most of us typically want to be experiencing something exciting all the time. Our modern day culture has actually bred us this way. Movies need more action, more sex, more suspense if they are to be hits in the box office. We live in a “more, more, more…” world. There are even so many statistics about how the current up and coming generation has no desire to figure out any type of career path because they are constantly changing routes in search of the next shiny object. Absolutely no disrespect to these young adults, we are all experiencing some version of 'attention deficit disorder' because there are literally a million things ping-ing us for attention and excitement all day long, every day!" Master boring with Olivia Pool.

Happy Holy Days
"Isn’t it interesting how the simple spelling change from Happy Holidays to Happy Holy Days seems to shift something? It lands a little differently, doesn’t it? In addition to the slight word and intonation change, we also actually have to slow down just a tiny bit when we say it. This may seem like a small thing and an irrelevant observation, but I think it can be a powerful one—an invitation to slowness and connectedness. Instead of rushing around this time of year, how can you slow down more? In what ways can you do the opposite of frantically shopping?" Olivia Pool addresses our societal need to slow down during the holiday season.

The Phoenix Inside All of Us
"Most of us have heard the myth of 'the phoenix rising' where this stunning and colorful bird lives for hundreds of years at a time. At some point, the bird will set its own self on fire, ending its life. From its own ashes, a new young Phoenix is born." Learn about the phoenix metaphor with Olivia Pool in this Work + Life episode.

The Secret to Feeling Worthy
"On March 17th, 2024, I sat down to write you an article on worthiness and a really simple way to be more aware of our inherent worth. I looked to see if I had written about it before, and sure enough, I had. I re-read the article from a long time ago, and found it to still be pretty solid info. I purposely wanted to share it again because the message is very simple but profound. Also, the method is easy and takes seconds." Learn about worthiness with Olivia Pool in this Work + Life episode.

The Power of Perspective
"On a moonless night, up on Eagle Rock, an intrepid hiker can see Sagittarius sprawled over the Pacific Ocean. The constellation has 32 stars with planets, at least two of which are 27,710 light years from earth. That means light from these planets takes 27,710 years to reach us. The odd thing about space is that the further out you look, the further back in time you see. You can never 'be here now.'"
