E21: First Show
Thanksgiving is the anniversary of our first  Alarm show (first concert ever) at Cal State Fullerton in November 1985.  In this episode we have a very personal discussion about what that show meant to us as teenagers. In  this discussion we get a few things wrong.  It's been 34 years, not 33.  The show started with Deeside, not Declaration/Marching On, and we cannot confirm the band played The Chant.  The memory of the show has been some what corrupted over the years by listening to "live" tapes.  Speaking of "live" tapes, the music in this episode was taken from the following sketchy live bootlegs, chosen to closely approimate the band when wesaw the mthe first time.-Gaumont Theatre, Southampton 18.12.85-Marquee, London 16.10.85-City Hall, Newcastle 13.12.85 Thanks to Pete Cole for providing the audio files, and to The Alarm , of course, for playing on them.

E13 :Forgotten Songs From The ITPF Bond
Between 2001 and 2003, Mike Peters and his new version of The Alarm demoed and recorded 50 songs that formed basis of the next 1/2 decade of music from The Alarm. "The Bond" was the name of the subscription fans could buy-into so they could receive the songs as they were recorded. In all 11 full electric demos (unreleased), and 5 full albums were produced as part of the The bond, plus countless acoustic demos. The songs went-on the form the basis of the albums "In The Poppy Fields" (2004) and "Under Attack" (2006). In the process, some of those tracks got lost in the dustbin of history. In this episode, we dust off some of those tracks "lost to the fog of time", and create an album from the "Forgotten Tracks Of The In The Poppy Fields Bond" . All of the songs mentioned in this episode can be owned by purchasing the "In The Poppy Fields Collected Works" CD/DVD set on thealarm.com : https://thealarm.myshopify.com/produc...

E10: An Alarm Fathers Day Story - A Moment Near Aspen Grove
Alarm Podcast host Steve Fulton recites a true story for Father's Day about his dad, himself, and the meaning of The Alarm's music in his short, non-fiction story "A Moment Near Aspen Grove" Excerpt: "The Alarm E.P. might be my favorite record ever recorded.   It was five slices of what made The Alarm great, and what made them stand-out among their contemporaries.  On that record, they sounded like no other band that came before or after.  The sound was at once punk and pop and folk played with carefully crafted, wild abandon.  It combined harmonicas, barnstorm stomping, electrified acoustic strumming, military style snare drumming, and hoops and hollers into a mix that defied description. If I had to find one, it might have been the Battle Of Little Big Horn, Custer’s Last Stand, if it was thrown into a blender and set to music.  To me, the sound was imperfect, organic and life affirming.  The minute I first heard it back in 1983, I knew I had found a missing part of my soul,  raggedly shoved into place,  and for the first time in my life, I felt like whole person."
