Rick addresses coaching players with elite skill, dumping the puck, and Matvei Michkov’s comments about dumping the puck. Jumping ahead Tocchet gives us the rundown on his assistant coaches, Flyers power play struggles, a few key points he stresses as a coach, Development Camp, Alex Bump and Spencer Gill, the Flyers new fighting coach, and expectations for captain Sean Couturier. Richie talks about the wild first game between Canada and USA at 4 Nations, the fights to start the game, and his experience losing to USA early in the 2010 Olympics but beating them in the gold medal game. Moving along we discuss the impressive team defense between USA and Canada and star players taking lesser roles in events like these, how he expects Thursday’s championship game to start, playing with Drew Doughty and his performance this tournament, and the leadership that was in the 2010 Canada Olympic team he was apart of. Wrapping up the interview we discuss if there are any players who didn’t make 4 Nations that should’ve, and we give our official predictions for Thursday night’s championship game.
