Napoleon finally hoists anchor from Toulon and heads for his first target, the impregnable island of Malta. There, concessions are made and a holy order, centuries old, is brought to its knees. Napoleon reorganizes Malta and finally sets sale for Alexandria, barely missing the intrepid Lord Horatio Nelson.

As we return back to Napoleon, we learn of his efforts to build a force to invade ancient Egypt. We also discuss history of the Ottoman Empire and the friendship they shared with the French. Details of the Scientific Commission are discussed as well as the governing body of Egypt at the time of the invasion.

We take a step back in time to see how the Directory was formed and discuss its political structure. The chaotic fall of Robespierre is covered as well as the structure of Napoleon's Cisapline Republic. Lastly Napoleon lends his hand to one last coup on 18 Fructidor to save the Directory and consolidate their power.

Napoleon's first Italian Campaign finally comes to an end. Vienna signs the Treaty of Campo Formio and the entire campaign is analyzed as a whole.

All Napoleon has learned thus far is put to the test at the legendary battle of Rivoli. This would either solidify Napoleon as a great Revolutionary general or he would lose Northern Italy forever.

As a new lion approaches from the north, Napoleon must shore up his rear and play a bold game of chess with a new Austrian commander. Battles are fought, but Napoleon's defensive strategies and movements compel the Austrians to flee back north.

As we come back to Napoleon holding on to northern Italy, his defensive strategies will be put to the test. A distinguished Count makes a march south at the head of fresh Austrian troops and Napoleon is forced to make life or death decisions.

We finish our focus on Josephine and find out what awaits her after prison.

Josephine spends two years on her island home until she is forcibly drawn back to the turmoil of France.

In the lull of the Italian campaign, we shift our gaze to the wife of Napoleon, the soon to be Empress Josephine. This episode covers her beginnings and the details of her first marriage.

Napoleon takes his final steps to rid Northern Italy of her Austrian overlords.

I realized I have made the cardinal sin of not even discussing what war Napoleon is even fighting in, so this bonus episode sheds some light on what started the Revolutionary Wars and in particular The War of the First Coalition.

Following Napoleon's commission to lead the Army of Italy, we follow him has he crushes the kingdom of Piedmont.
