This week’s episode looks a little different. It’s just me—sharing a raw conversation about what happens when you don’t have 100% to give in marriage.
We’ve talked before about how marriage isn’t 50/50—it’s 100/100. But the truth is, some weeks we don’t have 100. Sometimes not even close. So what do you do when both of you are running low and the math just doesn’t add up?
In this episode, I talk about:
The reality of “less than 100%” weeks.
Why presence matters more than perfection.
The Uncommon Question: What do you do when you feel like you’re not enough for your spouse?
Practical ways to extend grace and still stay connected.
If you’re in a season where you’re not at your best, this is your reminder—you’re not failing. You’re human. And your marriage doesn’t need 100% to thrive; it needs presence, grace, and love.

Every marriage faces challenges—some small, some overwhelming. In those moments, it can feel easier to walk away. But one of the most powerful fundamentals of a lasting marriage is the decision to never give up.
In this episode, we’ll talk about:
What “never giving up” in marriage really means.
Why perseverance builds trust, safety, and resilience.
When it’s right to keep fighting—and when it’s not safe to stay.
Practical ways couples can keep showing up, even when it’s hard.
We’ll also pull a fun question from our Uncommon Question Box—because laughter and lightness are part of what keeps couples strong, too.

Marriage isn’t always smooth sailing, but one of the most important skills couples can learn is compromise. The word can sound negative—like someone has to lose—but in reality, it’s about building something stronger together.
In this episode, we unpack:
What compromise in marriage really means (and what it doesn’t).
Why compromise is essential for trust, respect, and unity.
When compromise can go too far—and how to set healthy boundaries.
Practical ways couples can practice compromise every day.
We also have a little fun with our Uncommon Question Box—because marriage is serious work, but it doesn’t have to be all serious talk.

It’s natural for humans to compare themselves to others, but when it comes to marriage, this can be a dangerous habit. While it’s normal to look at other couples and wonder about their relationships, it’s important to remember that what you see on the surface may not reflect the reality of their situation.

At lunch a few months ago, I told a guy I had been #married for 16 years. His response was, “My sympathies, friend.” Like the prisoners said to captain jack when the cannon fire did not free him but the others in the jail, that got me thinking over these past few months, do we all think that about our marriages? I had to make sure I understood the definition of sympathy too. I am excited I have been married for 16 years, and though we haven’t always don’t it right, I think we are doing fantastic and are doing things to be better at life and parenting and being present with each other.

Totally Different than last week, let's talk about how grand gestures are not always the most essential thing in a relationship, but that the little things like consistent acts of love, speaking in their love language, and acts of service can strengthen and bond couples and make them feel secure.
