This week on the Movie Squad pod, Tristan Fidler and Simon Miraudo look at two movies that each save the cat… and that’s where the similarities end.
First up, Simon leads a review of Sorry, Baby, the darkly funny directorial debut of writer and star Eva Victor, about a young English professor reckoning with ‘the terrible thing’ that happened to them.
Then, Tristan looks at Darren Aronofsky’s rollicking thriller Caught Stealing, starring Austin Butler, Zoe Kravitz, Matt Smith and more. And yes, just like Sorry, Baby, it has a cat co-star.
Would it shock you to learn that Brekky host Pam Boland reveals during this episode that she has not yet read Blake Snyder’s iconic screenwriting book ‘Save the Cat’? Would it shock you even more that she’s actually keen to watch both these movies?
Listen back to find out why!
Then, stay tuned for a pod-exclusive review of Josh Hartnett’s Fight or Flight, in which he plays a hapless former secret service agent who has to protect a hacker on a plane full of assassins.
All of these films are now showing in Australian cinemas.
