Living abroad is an amazing experience but like with everything in life, it has a price - way beyond money! It is about to leave your "old" life and start everything from the beginning.
You can't be there to see your sister getting married, your nephew learning to walk or so many other important moments that for sure you would share if you could. It's the video calls that help cure the homesickness, expressing yourself in lovely messages for all the special dates, cheering from afar for the achievements of all those who stayed there - where you call home - and cheer for you wherever you are.
If you want to know how we, 3 overseas students living in Perth, Western Australia deal with homesickness, listen to our podcast epised #0002.
Are you coming for more this adventure with us?
When we think about life and stop to look around, it’s not hard to see different faces that carry with them a bunch of different experiences and stories. Living in another country as an overseas student makes it even easier, you get to know people from different backgrounds but even coming from totally different places, there is always something in common.
In our case, it wasn’t different. Four people ended up in Perth, Western Australia. Everyone dealing with their own insecurities and uncertainties but ready for a new chapter of life.
Monday Blues as we call it, is just another group of individuals gathering around a table to share about life experiences, dreams and future journeys. Deciding to get out of your comfort zone is not an easy deal, it’s about turning a page and having no clues of what is next.
You get to rebuild yourself, have no routine and see people coming and going all the time. It’s a mix of sensations and above all, a lot of gratitude.
Do you want to know more about this crazy way of living? Come with us in this adventure that turned our life upside down and has been teaching us different lessons every day.
