What do you get when a management consultant turns fashion designer and lands on the red carpet at Cannes? A story you definitely won’t find on your Instagram explore page.

In this episode, I’m joined (again!) by my friend and a fashion boss, Smrutha Santhosh —the first British Indian fashion designer to showcase her fashion and walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. We chat about everything from outfit drama and red carpet jitters to random celebrity run-ins and what it really feels like to be at Cannes when you’re not a Bollywood superstar (but might be bumping into one).

S03 E08: Mapping Cities One Meal at a Time: Ajit's Thindi Run

What happens when a food scientist with marathon-level stamina and an insatiable appetite turns his love for local food into a community movement? You get Thindi Capital — a one-of-a-kind food collective in Bangalore led by a man who runs across the city just to reach his favourite darshini. Meet Dr. Ajit Bhaskar!

In this episode, we dive into the world of street-side magic, lesser-known food joints, and the joy of chasing flavour over fame. Ajit talks about what draws him to a perfectly crisp Vada-pav, or perfectly cooked Shavige bath, or the juiciest Roshogolla, the quiet genius of local cooks who repeat greatness every day, and why food isn’t just about taste, but also method, memory, and community.

From Bengaluru to Kolkata and Mumbai, London to Kenya, he shares stories of eating curiously, cooking experimentally, and always making room for one more plate.

This is a celebration of food in all its forms — shared, savoured, and chased down with a hungry heart. Whether you eat to live or live to eat, this episode will leave you hungry — for more stories, more flavours, and maybe just one more idli.

S03 E07: Satish, the first Indian at the South Pole—Solo, Unguided, Unassisted, Unstoppable

What does it take to ski alone for 51 days across one of the most unforgiving yet breathtaking terrains on Earth?

In this powerful episode, we sit down with Mr. Satish Gogineni, the first Indian to ski unguided and unassisted to the South Pole. Over 51 solitary days on the Antarctic ice, Satish pulled his sled through freezing winds, cooked every meal himself, and found companionship in the strangest places—his harness, his socks, even the silence.

As he opens up about the surreal beauty, the solitude that he often enjoyed, and the mental resilience required for such a feat, Satish takes us deep into what it means to embrace true stillness. He describes the surprising sadness he felt on reaching the South Pole—the goal he had chased for years—because it also meant the end of an experience that felt absolutely perfect.

Beyond Antarctica, Satish is a mountaineering legend, having summited Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna, and more—often as the fastest Indian to do so. But it’s his reflective honesty and quiet strength that makes this conversation unforgettable.

Tune in for stories of survival, triumph, and the kind of adventure that changes you forever.

A trigger warning: This episode contains discussions around mental health, anxiety and suicide. So I suggest that you - my gentle listener is mindful of your own mental health and that you take breaks if needed. S03 E06: Art, Trails & Sore Feet: Ellie’s 483-Mile Colorado thru-hike

In today’s episode, I’m joined by Ms. Ellie Penner, an art historian whose work has taken her across the globe—from studying Himalayan art forms in Nepal and Ladakh to exploring ancient sculptures at Ajanta and Ellora, and observing masterpieces in the museums of the U.S. But beyond her deep love for centuries-old art, Ellie is an adventurer at heart. Raised in Colorado, she’s an outdoors enthusiast who jumps at any chance to head into the mountains.

And that’s exactly what she did—on a 32-day, 483-milethru-hike on the breathtaking Colorado Trail, accompanied by two of her best friends. What followed was a trail full of stories: hitchhiking into nearby towns, camping under the stars, weathering hailstorms, naming each other with quirky trail nicknames, dodging wildlife, and pushing through sore, blistered feet—all while laughing nonstop.

This episode is full of warmth, adventure, and some seriously hilarious moments. I don’t consider myself a hiker, but after talking to Ellie, I found myself itching to plan a trip like this with my best friends. Come along for the ride—you’ll laugh as much as I did.

Tune in and get inspired—whether you’re an art lover, anaspiring hiker, or just here for the wild stories.

S02 E18: Exploring Life Where Few Dare to Go: Living the Extremes with Atul

Imagine traveling to some of the most extreme, remote, and untouched places on Earth—and doing it not just once, but twice, to experience the full contrast of life in different seasons. In this captivating episode, we sit down with a truly unique adventurer and photographer, Atul Prasad, whose journeys are as inspiring as they are bold.

Atul’s story begins in the northernmost frontier of Alaska, a place called Barrow (now known as Utqiaġvik). He takes us to the heart of the whaling festival, where locals celebrate their connection to the Arctic waters with centuries-old traditions. Experiencing the close-knit community’s way of life during the festival was only the start of his remarkable journey.

But the highlight of the episode is his two trips to Mongolia in a single year. Atul had the unique opportunity to travel with none other than BBC’s Timothy Allen and his crew on the expeditions. On his first visit, he braved -30°F snow during the migration of Kazakh eagle hunters. Trekking alongside families, herding their livestock, and carrying their prized eagles through snow-covered landscapes, he immersed himself in their arduous but extraordinary way of life. Moved by the experience, he returned that summer to witness an entirely different side of Mongolia. This time, the same families were alive with joy and celebration. From making cheese to rearing sheep, the vibrant life of the community stood in stark contrast to their winter hardships. Spending those months with the same families gave him an unparalleled insight into how the seasons shape human lives and cultures.

Adding to the allure of this episode is Atul’s love for photography. A hobbyist with a keen eye, his works have been featured in renowned magazines. This episode is not just about extraordinary places; it’s about the resilience, joy, and connection found in the lives of those who live at the edges of the world. Atul’s tales will inspire you to see travel through a new lens and seek stories that go beyond the usual paths. Join us for a conversation packed with adventure, culture, and humanity—from the icy landscapes of Alaska to the sunlit summers of Mongolia, and everything in between.

S02 E15: Iceland’s Icy Wonders: Crazy Snowstorms to the Magical Aurora dance, with Smrutha

In today's podcast episode, we have an exciting guest, Ms. Smrutha Santhosh, who takes us on a whirlwind vacation adventure she had with her husband and son in Iceland. This family loves taking Christmas trips, but this one was special as they were chasing the Northern Lights for the first time. Their journey, however, got off to a rocky start—literally. They lost a bag in transit, and driving on icy roads soon became a test of nerves. One night, a snowstorm led to a major mishap when their car landed in a giant ice ditch, leaving them stranded in the freezing cold for over 2-3 hours, waiting for help. A true misadventure!

But instead of letting it ruin the trip, they quickly devised a Plan B. They joined a tour group to explore the beautiful icy landscape of Iceland. From soaking in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon during fresh snowfall to marveling at glaciers, frozen waterfalls, giant geysers, and mega craters, they embraced Iceland’s “Land of Fire and Ice” experience. And of course, the ultimate highlight was witnessing the breathtaking aurora borealis dance across the sky for the very first time.

Despite the setbacks, this trip turned out to be one for the books. It reminded them that vacations are all about making memories, spending quality time with loved ones, and embracing the unexpected. My guest’s lively storytelling made this conversation a joy to listen to. Tune in to hear the full story!

S02 E14: Sabbatical across South America: Phalgun's Epic 6-month Journey

In this episode, we welcome Phalgun Guduthur, a passionate explorer on his third sabbatical, who spent six months uncovering the wonders of South America. Phalgun is a ‘serial traveler’ who thrives on exploring new places, soaking in the local culture, making lasting connections, and, of course, savoring local cuisine and beer with newfound friends. He shares how sabbaticals have become transformative for him, whether they reignite his professional spark, open doors to new career paths, or provide the perfect escape from the routine hustle.

Phalgun's journey through South America is packed with unforgettable stories. From crazy parties with drug lords to dancing reggaeton under the shadow of Christ the Redeemer, he had once-in-a-lifetime experiences. He trekked across jaw-dropping landscapes, witnessed an awe-inspiring volcanic eruption during a trek, waded through serene lagoons, and celebrated life through local festivals. He also faced challenges like altitude sickness and explored the vibrant yet complex favelas, all while embracing the rich, immersive culture of the continent.

One of the most memorable moments of Phalgun's journey was celebrating his birthday atop the majestic Rainbow Mountain, surrounded by llamas and alpacas. Though he initially doubted he'd return to South America due to the distance and expense, the magic of the trip convinced him otherwise. Now, he's already planning part two of his South American sabbatical.

This is an episode brimming with adventure, cultural discovery, and personal growth—don't miss it!
