Nuage emerges with a tantalising collection of 2-step tear-jerkers on his latest album 'Gradient' releasing via Microfunk Music on September 19th.
For over a decade, Nuage has built a reputation as one of electronic music’s most emotive voices, with celebrated releases on Project Mooncircle, Anjunadeep, 20/20 Vision, and Phonica Records, and regular radio support from BBC Radio 1. Following the vibrant Music of Branches (Absys, 2013), the lushly introspective Prints of You (Translation, 2014), and the genre-bending WILD (Project Mooncircle, 2017), Gradient marks a natural next step, refining his signature blend of moody synths, floating melodies, and broken 2-step rhythms into something intimate, ethereal, and timeless.
Each track on Gradient feels like a precious gem, balancing restraint and atmosphere with a subtle pull toward the dancefloor. UKG-inspired grooves set the foundation for much of the record, carrying Nuage’s trademark weightless touch. “Pausepoint” stands out as a highlight, where Nuage teams up with Microfunk Music label head Bop to push the tempo into drum & bass territory, providing a dynamic counterpoint to the album’s meditative flow. The surrounding tracks lean into hazy textures and shimmering percussion that unfold like half-remembered dreams.
Over the years, Nuage has become known for crafting electronic music that feels as personal as it is expansive, soundtracks for both solitary reflection and communal release.
