S3. Ep 60. Whitney’s Birthday Reflection:35 Things I’ve Learned in 35 years (Part 1)

Whitney hit a big milestone birthday in September 2021. Because she is the amazing and inspirational coach that she is, she is sharing the 35 things she's learned in her 35 years around the sun! We're splitting this conversation into two parts so you get the most of Whitney's story sharing, resources, and inspirations!

35 List:

1. Your intuition is always right

2. You won't have to second guess if a friendship or relationship is "genuine" if you are questioning, it's not genuine.

3. Working your ass off for a future goal (when it's set by someone else - ie a boss) is never going to leave you 100% happy

4. Take at least one solo 4+ day vacation

5. Take the time to figure out what your ideal day is and do your damndest to make part of it blend into each day (even if you're working a job you hate)

6. Start honoring your budget NOW (and it doesn't have to be painful!)
Resource: I will teach you to be rich by Ramit Sethi

7. Take your fears and journal why they're not true, it's one of the most freeing exercises you can do

8. Time in nature is never wasted

9. When you feel you don't have any time "for you" is when it's most important to take time to step back, even for an hour

10. Don't worry about finding your "life's purpose," find your NOW purpose. You're a dynamic being - and life will change you

Resource: Soul - 2020 Pixar film

11. Understand that each chapter of life will have a different focus, different energy. Don't judge each chapter on it's own but look at the whole

12. Ask yourself each day "What does my soul need most?" and do your best to give it to yourself

13. Take up a hobby you had or wanted in childhood as an adult, it will fill your spirit

14. Take time to get to know yourself, outside of societal expectations. Strip all the "could, would and should" away and ask "who am I"? (Don't answer with labels like "mom, friend, job title.")
15. Find something you admire in every person you meet. It'll help you be more open to all possible connections in life.

16. Do your best to understand differing perspectives. We are all having unique and connecting human experiences

17. Don't put anything on a timeline. It will come when it needs to.

(Continued in episode 61)
