Meanwhile, back in Ayodhya, Lord Rama's father, King Dasaratha, falls ill and dies, leaving the kingdom in turmoil. Lord Rama's younger brother, Bharata, is unwilling to accept the throne and instead goes in search of Lord Rama to bring him back to Ayodhya.
The book ends with Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya and his coronation as the king, bringing happiness and prosperity to the kingdom once again.
