Mental Fitness Unscripted S2E26 Confidence Favors the Prepared

Change is hard.Trying new things can be stressful.

Being uncomfortable is, well, uncomfortable.

In such situations, often our first response is, "I can'tdo it." Or, "That's crazy."

And we talk ourselves out of taking action.

That's normal because our brains are hardwired to pursue pleasure, comfort, and safety.

So how can we beat this natural inclination and confidently do the new thing?

For those of us who can become paralyzed by our fears of failure or loss of comfort and safety, Todd and I discuss a few ideas that will help.

Such as:

-Exposing yourself "safely" to the thing. Think Baby Steps.

-Remembering where you come from and drawing upon similar past experiences

-Learning from others' experience

We know success favors the prepared, and confidence grows from success.

Healthy confidence is a mental fitness exercise that requires action.

So take action today and try the new thing.

You will be better for it.
