Everyone experiences physical pain and emotional pain. There are healthy ways to deal with pain and not so healthy ways. Pain is often (but not always) a consequence of our behavior. We discuss this principle as it pertains to our health and the choices we make about how we take care of ourselves. While not all physical pain can be avoided, we can be proactive to give ourselves the best chance to minimize it. Further, the idea of practicing hard things can prepare us for the unexpected hard things that are bound to happen in life. Emotional pain is a bit more nuanced, but there are principles we can practice to help us deal with emotional pain. We need to be careful that emotional pain does not destroy us by bitterness, un-forgiveness and believing false judgements. Forgiving has incredible power to free us from emotional pain, but it requires courage and strength. Our conversation gets cut off, but that just means you'll have to tune in again to hear more!
