
I often say, "That's lame." when something unfortunate occurs. It's a lazy way to judge a circumstance as bad. But in the proverb of the Chinese farmer, we are challenged to withhold our judgement that a situation is good or bad in the moment, but rather accept it as is because we don't know the consequences in the future.
