Mens Health Matters
Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men's Health
8 episodes
To conclude Series 1 of the Men's Health Matters podcast, Cameron Gyss sits down with two of his best mates, Callum and Tom and has a frank conversation about men's health, and discusses what they feel are some of the important health issues facing young men. Cameron wasn't sure how this would pan out, given the subject matter was a bit foreign amongst friends. Instead, it ended up being a great session with all of them being more than happy, when asked the questions, to share their own experiences and views on such matters as mental health, masculinity and manhood in the modern day, sexual health, and going to the doctor. They recognise that their opinions and attitudes are their own and will differ to other young men men with their own unique backgrounds, experiences and opportunities. See you for Series 2 at some point.

Dr Luke Selth: Prostate cancer....At wAR with the androgen receptor!
For this podcast, Luke explains why he, and an international team of scientists, are waging a war on the "androgen receptor (AR) protein" to combat advanced prostate cancer. Luke returned to his home town of Adelaide after completing his postdoctoral research at Cancer Research UK in 2009, and now heads up the prostate cancer research program of the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL). Luke scientific excellence has been acknowledged by his SA Tall Poppy award and by being one of a only a handful of non-US scientists awarded a Prostate Cancer Foundation (US) Fellowship. The podcast has guest commentary from Professor Wayne Tilley, Director of the DRMCRL and Dr Michael O'Callaghan, Senior Researcher & Educator of the South Australian Prostate Cancer Clinical Outcomes Collaboration (SA-PCCOC) Registry.
