Medsmos - Exploring Space Medicine
Episode 2

Today we interview Eleanor Frost! Eleanor Frost is a medical student in the UK, who has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and has gone on to medical school in Aberdeen, Scotland. She is the vice-lead for the Space Medicine and Life Sciences Groups and is doing her own research in space medicine. At UCL, she completed the space medicine module with Kevin Fong and enjoyed the general learning process, as well as reading papers and textbooks, or even just Googling related topics. She found this education helpful when talking to researchers and experts. Eleanor Frost chose her own topic and designed a microgravity surgical workstation for her 3rd year dissertation, and through this was able to contact various people at space agencies, and space medicine experts.

Episode 1

Today we interview Nicolas Nelson! Nicolas Neslon is a fourth-year medical student in Philadelphia working toward a career in radiation oncology and space medicine. He has done research in space medicine, circadian rhythms, radiobiology, and the care of LGBTQ+ patients. His goals are to make an impact in oncology, spaceflight, and global health through research and direct patient care.

Please note that there is a small mistake in the recording:

*10:36 galaxies -> solar system

Galactic cosmic radiation comes from other stars and celestial objects, mostly within the Milky Way.
