I recently said to goodbye to my 13.5 year old chihuahua, Jack. The script for this meditation was written months ago as he slept in his bag by my feet as we traveled on an Amtrak train along the Hudson River. Occasionally anticipatory grief would take me out of the present moment, as if I was I trying to prepare for the inevitable loss one day. Now he is no longer here, I went back and added to this meditation, recognizing the things that were left out.
