Paloma Faith has had plenty of moments in her life when she's felt mad, sad or bad - or been told that's what she's being. But do these words mean the same for everyone? What does it mean if someone says you're mad: that you're angry? Unstable? Insane? Or perhaps just different... Could those words be liberating, therapeutic or even transformational?
To find out more, Paloma invites an array of actors, comedians, musicians and thinkers into her home to reflect on times where they've felt mad, sad, bad - and even glad - what they've understood and learnt from these experiences too.
This podcast takes us into Paloma's world, with friends and family popping in occasionally - come for the chaos; stay for the conversation!

Estelle is an artist I’ve always looked up to - she can rap, she can sing, she can write - she’s conquered America but she’s a London girl at heart, so I was really excited to have her over to mine.
After the phenomenal success of ‘American Boy’, Estelle shot to dizzying and mad heights of fame - we talk about the insanity of touring and how she made opportunity for herself, taking a chance and introducing herself to Kanye West. Estelle shares with me the pain of losing her grandmother and we discuss the power of a strong matriarch in a family unit.
I also ask Estelle about her current relations with American Boys and introduce her to one of my own (NB might actually be from Bromley…)
Also thanks to my mate, Seye Adelekan for playing so beautifully to us - you can follow him here: www.instagram.com/seyemusic

Trixie Mattel is a drag queen who rose to fame in Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and later won Season 3 of the All-Stars, but more importantly, she took my song, Bad Woman, and turned it into a banging gay anthem!
Together we chat about heartbreak and the madness it can drive us to, but the solace of boredom and simple things. We laugh about how full glam can be embarrassing when parenting and also when you’re stopped at customs travelling with a suitcase of drag outfits (or disguises!). We also talk about the state of America and the mess of keeping yourself informed whilst not losing your mind - Trixie spoke about not running but staying to fight the fight.
I had so much fun with Trixie - we even have a little impromptu performance of Bad Woman - heaven! Now please can you help me get on RuPaul's Drag Race as a guest judge??

Jen Brister is someone who I admire not only for her fearless approach to comedy and life in general, but for her vocal stance on what’s happening in Palestine. She runs a non-profit to help families over there, All Our Relations and we met at a Palestine Solidarity event. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to have her on the pod...
We chatted about the crossover with comedy, politics and questioning authority and were lucky enough to be joined by the amazing Professor Nick Maynard, a leading surgeon, who had just got back from a trip to Gaza two days prior. We spoke to him about what it’s like on the ground over there and how it feels to now be back in the UK. My amazing mate, Tai Shani, who’s a Turner Prize winning artist, and daughter of Holocaust survivors, also popped in to speak about why, as a Jewish woman, she feels so compelled to speak out against the horrors of what is happening in Palestine.
This is a really special episode for me and something I’ve wanted to make for a long time. I wanted to re-humanise a situation that all too often gets turned into stats on a news report. Thank you for listening.

We love a bit of emotional damage here—but sometimes, you just need erotic fiction involving zombies, a tin of beans, and celebrity guests desperately trying to stay composed.
Write Me Dirty is the gloriously unhinged podcast hosted by Katherine Ryan where comedy, chaos, and sex writing collide. It’s weird, wonderful, and weirdly touching.
Here is a special exclusive clip of the show for you to enjoy.
Go on. Be mad. Be bad. Get dirty.

Jamie Laing is the first posh person I’ve ever liked - before I first met him, I was convinced we wouldn’t get on, but within about 10seconds of our first meet, I was a fan. We’ve since become great friends and he’s the reason I have this podcast in the first place, so it felt right to have him over.
Jamie is juggling A LOT: a multiple podcasts, a production company, Radio1 presenting, running Candy Kittens and most recently, preparing for fatherhood. He really opened up about the toll of doing so much and what drives him to do what he does. Jamie shares some of his naughtier antics both from Made In Chelsea and as a child, and he gets emotional reflecting on how his relationships with family have changed as he’s got older.
My mum, like many mothers, is a huge fan of Jamie’s so obviously popped her head in to give Jamie some parenting advice.

The price of living is rising and life is getting increasingly more difficult for many. Gary Stevenson was a trader who predicted and profited from the financial crash in 2008; suddenly he was richer than his wildest dreams, and the most depressed he’d ever been too. Quitting Citibank, he now devotes his time to educating millions via his YouTube channel and book, about the reality of why everything is costing more. So of course, I had to invite him over (and hopefully get some investment tips too…!)
Gary opened up about the saddest time of his life, and how he couldn’t understand how he could feel so low whilst earning so much. We spoke about how and why he felt driven to overwork, which led to a breakdown, but at the end of it all, it’s always the people who have the least, who are the most generous.
I really enjoyed chatting to Gary, although I’m still none the wiser on what to invest in!

TW: This episode contains discussion of suicide
Romesh Ranganathan is known for his BAFTA Award winning show, Rob & Romesh, presenting across TV and radio and his hallmark cynical comedy - but really, what shines through is his generosity, openness and vulnerability, particularly around the subject of mental health.
We talk about how hard it is to tell when someone’s really struggling with their mental health, talking therapy with your children, what it’s really like going to Centre Parcs when you’re in the public eye and Romesh makes a big, BAD confession.
Plus – Romesh’s Mum, Shanthi pops by for a chat with me and my mum, Pam; we talk all about Shanthi’s incredible sacrifices, the impact of Romesh’s relationship with his Dad on his mental health – and Romesh and I bond over what it’s like having Mums that will fight for you on social media comments but also humble you more than anyone.
Hope you all enjoy x

Amy Jackson is Bollywood royalty - she's also a Scouser, so when she said she'd pop by, jut a few weeks after giving birth to her second child, I was delighted!
Anyone who's ever had a baby knows the utter madness and hormonal chaos in the weeks following the birth; however Amy turned up looking like a movie star - apparently it just takes a blow-dry and some Spanx! We chatted about bullies who sadly still exist in every industry, and Amy shared a story of an uncomfortable work situation which reminded her to never go against her gut instinct.
We were also rather rudely interrupted by my neighbour Nicky, who was back causing havoc
I adored chatting to Amy - but I’m still convinced that she’s more ‘Bad’ than she says she is…
Hope you all enjoy this episode x

People always tell me that Jordan Stephens is the kind of man we need more of in the world—and honestly, I couldn’t agree more.
You might know Jordan as one half of the iconic hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, but he’s since grown into a powerful voice across multiple platforms. He’s a podcaster, actor, and now a Sunday Times bestselling author with his raw and brilliant memoir Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak and Dogs.
Jordan opens up about the damage we do in relationships - how he’s confronted his own past, learned from his mistakes, and worked to heal from the pain he’s caused and the pain he’s carried.
We also explore love, masculinity, and why acts of hatred towards an entire gender might be a mirror for something unresolved within ourselves. Jordan holds a type of vulnerability that’s powerful and raw, and his commitment to honesty is both disarming and inspiring.
It was a privilege having Jordan on, even though he may have stolen my mum’s heart in the process...

I have always admired Munroe Bergdorf and love putting the world to rights with her when everything feels like it’s going up in flames around us. I wish there were more people like her in the world!
Munroe opens up about the dangers of apathy, how she’s staying hopeful, the impact that current world politics are having on the trans community and the importance of both speaking up AND speaking out. We also chat about perfectionism, her new book and her relationship with her Mum – plus, my Mum joins us too!
I adored speaking to Munroe – she gives me so much hope during tricky times – but I’m slightly worried she’s going to be better friends with my Mum than me now...
Hope you all enjoy this episode x

People have always likened me to Ruby Wax - I suppose because she says it like it is and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. For those exact reasons I couldn’t wait to have her over, and let her loose in my house…
Ruby is a world-class interviewer, from smashing up a hotel room with Jim Carey, being attacked with a banana by OJ Simpson, to getting kicked off Donald Trump’s private jet - she’s done it all! She’s also spoken openly about her depression, earning an OBE for her services to mental health. We spoke about how she always thinks the worst of people and the sadness of unrequited love.
I loved having Ruby over but I would quite like my hat back!!

Vogue Williams is a queen of podcasts; she's a mother with a great sense of humour and is incredibly beautiful. She's also recently released her first book - honestly, the comparisons between us are too numerous to mention.
Vogue opened up about her fear of death and how losing her dad sent her into a spiral of being wild and reckless. She shared the story of the worst thing she's ever done - it involves stealing, lying, and it made my jaw drop... We joked about posh people, and Vogue told me about the depths of her anxiety which can make her feel mad at times.
I absolutely loved chatting to Vogue - we laughed from start to finish - even if my neighbour Nicky did try to sabotage the interview to talk about the bin collection!

Samuel L Jackson is one of the most well-regarded and iconic actors of his generation. From catching the attention of Hollywood in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever to playing Nick Fury in the the Marvel franchise and of course his continued career collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, Sam has become one of the most loved actors in Hollywood, and a friend no one ever believes I have!
Sam very kindly agreed to pop over to mine when he was last in London for his first ever podcast appearance (and his last!). He spoke to me about growing up in segregation and being on the right side of history - appearing in Kendrick Lamar's iconic Super Bowl Half Time Show. We chatted about his career, from being a high functioning addict and raising his daughter Zoe, to how he makes such evil characters so real and likeable. We talked about therapy and near-death experiences, road-rage and the key to a successful marriage...
We didn't leave a stone unturned - it was a JOY! And it will also be the only time you'll ever hear Sam on a podcast - lucky me!

As we come to the end of the first series of Mad, Sad & Bad, I've been lucky enough to chat to some amazing people - from discussing madness with Mel B, to chatting about great sadnesses for Elizabeth Day and laughing with Eve about being naughty and - I think - a bit of a badass, I feel like I've learnt a lot, so thought it would be nice to sit down and reflect on all these fantastic conversations.
So this is me, after the guests have gone, the kit's been packed away, and the crew have left, having a quiet look back at the series.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey - whether you've listened from the start, or just tuned into the odd episode - it means so much, and who knows, we could be back for more soon....

AJ Tracey is rapper and producer notably from Ladbroke Grove; he's also an incredible voice for younger generations and social justice so obviously, I couldn't wait to have him over to chat...
AJ and I discuss being cheeky kids, how having ADHD would get us into trouble and how our mums have supported our careers - from giving us an example what it is to work hard, to buying our music and tickets at full price quite late into our careers.
We also talk about how the rising price of a pint is killing our British culture and we're joined by a *very* special guest, who has some important questions to ask AJ...
This conversation was everything I hoped it would be, deep, authentic, and great fun!

Aisling Bea is a comedian, actress, and the BATFA winning writer of This Way Up; she's witty, honest, and extremely talented, so of course, I was very excited to have her pop by for a chat...
Aisling and I discuss identity post-motherhood, Catholic guilt and the wild politics of leaving a WhatsApp group. Aisling also shares the story of the unlikely friendship she struck up with a neighbour during the pandemic, and why she'll never forgive herself for not being there in his final days.
We also talk about the impact Sinead O'Connor's death left on Aisling and the importance of standing up for what is right and having a community to support you.
This conversation was everything I hoped it would be, deep, authentic, and absolutely hilarious!

TW: This episode contains discussion of pregnancy loss.
Not only is Katherine Ryan an esteemed comedian, actress, writer, podcaster, and one of the most glamorous women on television, she’s a fiercely outspoken powerhouse of a woman.
In this conversation we discuss motherhood, raising girls to have high standards, and how there’s no such thing as being too confident. Katherine also opens up about her experience of miscarriage, the nonlinear nature of pregnancy, and how she processed the grief of her pregnancy losses.
Katherine also shares some wild stories from her past relationships and talks frankly about why she’s not sorry she cheated on her ex-partner.
Katherine’s energy and zest for life is absolutely infectious – I absolutely loved having her round to chat!

Afua Hirsch is an activist, writer, broadcaster, and an incredible storyteller who exudes inspiration. Her ability to express herself with diplomacy while never compromising on her convictions is seriously impressive, so I was thrilled to invite her round for a chat!
In this conversation, Afua opens up about making sense of her dual-heritage identity, and how challenging western beauty standards has helped her to reconnect with her own body, beauty ideals, and culture. Afua also discusses her experiences as a TV news reporter; from being told her afro was too big for TV, to hearing that racism doesn’t exist from an all-white panel, and why she’ll never seek approval from industry gatekeepers.
Through her activism and writing, Afua has helped countless people to understand and articulate the black-British experience. She is a true inspiration and a force to be reckoned with!

Rupert Everett has had an expansive career, from Prince Charming in Shrek, to Oscar Wilde in The Happy Prince; more recently the fabulous Giorgio in Emily in Paris, and less recently, my old Headmistress at St Trinian’s.
In this conversation, Rupert reminisces about his early years, from his melancholic birth, to his magical experiences of the gay London party scene in the 1970s. Rupert also shares how his experience of growing up in a Catholic school ignited a naughty streak which now sees him questioning some of his behaviour as a younger man.
Rupert has been a dear friend of mine for many years so it was a real pleasure to have him over - as expected with him, there are no holds barred - we chatted about religion, sexuality, narcissism, national identity and everything in between - plus plenty of cackling laughter too!
