My guest this week is from a nonprofit called IMPOWER- they focus on behavioral health and child wellbeing - providing psychiatric clinics, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and Telehealth services. Though their mission is serious, they are having their annual Stuff Your Face Race happening, and I had the opportunity to speak with Mary Cortez, the Director of Development, and Howard Abell, the race presenting sponsor and co-chair of the race committee.

My guest this week is Eliot Hillis - the co-owner and co-sorcerer of Baba Yaga Chicken Truck- All of Baba Yaga's offerings are fried chicken based and each is named for a famous witch. Baba Yaga, a figure from Slavic folklore, and her iconic hut on chicken legs. but Eliot and company are offerings delicious fried chicken in sandwiches, spice bags, handheld on their truck.
He and Seth Parker are also behind the delicious noodles truck- Red Panda Noodle - I wanted to chat with Eliot and discuss what made him want to open another truck and do a chicken truck. We discussed everything from how hot it gets inside the trucks and how they manage having to 2 trucks out and his attempt at balancing life. My guest this week I spoke with the Wellness Sheriff- Hokkaido Hank- who is Joshua Hsu - a licensed massage therapist - who when the mustache comes on he’s Hank the Wellness Sheriff.
We discussed how Josh is wanting to make massage accessible for others and being able to provide a proper adjustment in 10 min targeting vital triggers points along the neck, shoulder and spine. We spoke what led to the character creation of Hokkaido Hank and his decision to pops up at markets, bars and pop-ups offering chair massages. The importance of treating yourself and trying to build his business.
We also discussed about his family story that was filmed- Starring Jerry as Himself, Where his father stars in the film and is based on true events, where he gets into a crazy situation which involved the whole family. Events transpired in Orlando, shot in Orlando, with all of them playing as themselves. The film swept the Slamdance 2023 awards. It has played around the whole world except for Orlando until now. Its an Orlando movie with several recognizable locations in the Mills area, will be aired on April 17 at Redlight Redlight
