In this episode of Love, Brie, I’m diving into the messy, performative world of modern dating apps — from why I don’t think they’re a fit for me to what I’ve noticed about the lack of real connection they often create. I talk about how “traveling” has somehow become a placeholder for personality, and how we’ve started curating our dating profiles more for performance than connection.
I also share a moment of unintentional (but very enlightening) eavesdropping on two first dates at the same coffee shop — and what that told me about the state of dating culture today. Hint: it wasn’t exactly heartwarming, but still there were glimpses of hope!
If you’ve ever felt disillusioned by dating apps, wondered if anyone actually connects anymore, or questioned why the bar seems to be so low, this one’s for you.
