don't date like a black cat, date like a human

In this solo episode of Love, Brie, I go on a bit of a rant (surprise!) about the state of modern dating and what I’ve been noticing lately — more detachment, more aloofness, and a lot less actual connection. It feels like everyone is trying to date like a black cat: cool, mysterious, unavailable. But here’s the truth — that vibe might be aesthetic on Instagram, but it’s not sustainable when you actually want something real.

I talk about how dating culture has shifted toward casual everything — casual sex, casual communication, casual commitment — and how we’re treating relationships like side quests instead of something meaningful. If you’re craving intimacy, authenticity, and actual connection (plus, you know, good sex), this episode is for you. Because it takes work to show up. But it’s worth it.

We get into:

  • Why being “too chill” is killing connection

  • What we’re afraid of when we try to play it cool

  • How to date like a human (and not a self-protective ghoster)

  • What it actually means to show up for yourself and someone else

It’s raw, real, and probably a little spicy — but if you’re tired of performative dating and want something honest, you’ll feel seen.
