There are ways to properly nourish your body, your soul, and your mind so that weight loss is a source of personal growth. The process should be pleasurable, fulfilling, and freeing. If it’s not, you are doing it wrong. We’re not going to give you a long list of things you can’t do and can’t eat – life is for enjoying!
How is it possible to lose weight for the last time? Well join me on this podcast and find out. You see, the other weight loss approaches out there are capitalizing and thriving on your fear, your shame, your guilt, your feeling like you are not enough and you have to change. I like to think of that as the 1980s approach. It's old, it's outdated, and it doesn't work. You do not need yet another diet.
Rather, I'm going to invite you on this podcast to join me in a totally new paradigm. It's all about context. In what context do you want to improve your health? The old context was about fear and shame. And those are what I call MOTIVATION KILLERS!
Of course, you keep gaining the weight back - you're operating out of the wrong context, and you are trying to solve the wrong problems. Extra body fat is not the problem - it's a symptom. So we have to get to the root of the problem. And we do that through love.
The new context is about love. I'm hoping this podcast will be a source of comfort, solace, and food for thought for you.
Let’s work together to help you to lose weight while creating a healthy, long-lasting life that you LOVE.

Tackling your internal issues is an essential step in every weight loss journey.
We are inundated with external judgments and opinions that can make a big impact on how we feel about ourselves. It’s important to understand that you will never feel good if you don’t learn to love yourself first, even if you lose a bunch of weight.
Wanting to be accepted and loved is a basic human drive and you can give yourself some of that by learning to feel comfortable in your own body. Rewrite your inner narrative, and accept your flaws to truly love who you are!
The human experience is filled with ups and downs, and this is normal and healthy.
If you censor yourself and ignore some of your feelings you are not embracing what it is to really be human. Nobody out there is perfect and nobody is feeling happy and positive 100% of the time.
If you can be brave enough to embrace your fear, sadness, and anger, the end result will be relief and clarity that will drive you forward to emotional growth and prosperity. Embrace the rollercoaster of life and accept who you are and how you feel!
Switch the intention of your self-care to getting healthier rather than losing weight. Everybody has busy schedules, but it’s important to be kind to yourself and prioritize some time each day for self-care. Let the goal of improving your health be the informer of your decisions and motivate you to start daily healthy habits. It’s so much easier to stay on task with a more expansive goal, and losing weight will be a byproduct of these healthy choices. Your progress is in your hands, so don’t be afraid to set boundaries for a bit of daily “me time,” because you deserve it!
The concept of food as a comfort or celebration is ingrained in our culture, but we can change our mindset. Patty is an “inner business coach” that offers compassionate partnership to her clients to help them make positive changes in their lives. Instead of thinking about some foods as inherently good or bad, we should recognize them as fuel and nourishment for our bodies instead. We can escape this binary attitude towards food and develop a positive relationship with it. There are so many wonderful things in life that we can find comfort in outside of what we eat. Find your passions and enjoy the comfort that doesn’t depend on food!
Body appreciation is fundamental for our ongoing health journey. Dr. Deb does “mind, body, spirit” work and helps people assess self-awareness and manage grief. The most important part of self-care is the context in which we nurture our health and bodies with. We need to stop treating our bodies as high-performance working machines and show ourselves love and tenderness. Our body takes the burden of our habits and lifestyle, so we need to listen to it and respect it. Stop maintaining yourself and start loving yourself!
