Dom Nero is a writer, co-host of the very good movie podcast Eye of the Duck, and the Webby award-winning video editor of the Seinfeld-Twin Peaks mashup Seinfeld: The Return. The A.V. Club once said, “Dominick seems determined to use his video-editing skills as a force for positive change in the digital world.” He's created many funny things you've probably seen on his social channels or in high-profile Internet places like Esquire, Funny or Die, and Super Deluxe. On this episode of LOG OFF, we discuss all of that, plus how he got started, what it takes to make it in a digital comedy world (beyond tweeting it at Tim Heidecker), and of course our usual stupid Internet questions

The prolific Phil Ranta was an early adopter and proponent of web video before YouTube. There's a good chance he's one of the minds behind your favorite streamer, content creator, or YouTube channel. He's spent the last decade-plus building massive creator networks at places like Fullscreen, Studio71, Facebook Gaming, and beyond. He created original comedy for SuperDeluxe and played a big role in building the powerhouse network Fullscreen. He now advises and chairs several media companies and is COO and partner at Fixated, a content and gaming studio that builds IP around creators. He's also a creator in his own right, active on social media, and publishing multiple newsletters, including "Grow 1%" on LinkedIn, which provides weekly social media advice. Unsurprisingly, last month, Phil was invited to Washington, D.C., to participate in the first-ever White House Creator Economy Conference and discuss the industry's most pressing issues. Brandon Wenerd is an Internet OG who's worn every hat in the content game. Back in 2008 he helped jumpstart BroBible, a media empire that quickly developed a huge audience and was acquired just a few years later by UPROXX, only to be re-acquired by most of the brand's original partners in 2018. He remains the publisher and face of the brand today. Ryan's had the pleasure of working with Brandon at several checkpoints along that journey, including the last four years with BroBible being a client of Pennant Digital. Brandon joined LOG OFF to discuss his Internet journey: from early beginnings on Phish message boards and publishing travel content, to helping research and compile a Hunter S. Thompson book with the legendary gonzo journalist's widow, to doing everything on the BroBible ride: write about sports and culture, interview compelling subjects, record engaging podcasts, and become an adventure-seeking on-camera influencer. Oh, and he makes killer sales decks and lands huge brand deals! This episode is the story of what he's learned along the way. Michael Rayner has accumulated hundreds of millions of social media views doing unique tricks, but he's much more than just a screaming TikTok juggler. For decades he's been performing his unique act live and on-screen — including appearances on America's Got Talent, Letterman, and Sesame Street — and was involved with several programs on Nickelodeon, where his wife played everyone's favorite referee, 'Mo' on Guts. He's also acted on shows like Judging Amy and appeared in plenty of commercials that will give you a little nostalgia tickle when you track them down online.Micheal joined LOG OFF to discuss his online journey, and share advice for aspiring creators looking to make their mark online. Plus he graciously answered our usual stupid Internet questions.

Ronda Rousey has collected all the fighting accolades and milestones: first US woman to medal in Olympic judo, first woman signed to the UFC and first female UFC champ, first woman in the UFC Hall of Fame... she was in the first women’s match to headline WrestleMania... the list goes on. She's also a prolific writer, having authored two memoirs plus a biopic screenplay based on those books, which has been acquired by Netflix. And she made two big announcements at San Diego Comic-Con this year: her second child is on the way, and so is her debut graphic novel, Expecting the Unexpected, which is about a deadly hit-woman who wears a fake baby bump filled with guns, until she becomes actually pregnant and must balance creating life with taking them. Unsurprisingly, the project has nearly tripled its Kickstarter goal.
Ronda joined LOG OFF to discuss much of the above, plus walk us through her Internet journey. Kwame Appiah is the head of influencer and creator engagement at Later, a social media management platform. He's also the co-host of Later's podcast, Beyond Influence. A former professional soccer player and development coach, Kwame is also a successful creator himself with nearly half a million followers on social media. He's probably BEST known to the masses as a contestant on Netflix's Love is Blind, which is, quite possibly, the greatest reality television show of all time. Kwame joined LOG OFF to discuss his Internet journey, plus the importance of disconnecting from technology and taking time for self-reflection. Appiah provides valuable insights on the impact of constant connectivity on our mental health and overall well-being, plus his plans for raising his children in a digital world, and of course he answers our usual stupid Internet questions.
