Philadelphia Phillies fall to the Washington Nationals, 3-2 as the offense struggles to find clutch hits.
Jesus Luzardo started for the Phillies and allowed just one run in his first 6 innings of work, but in the 7th, he would get into trouble. Luzardo walked two with a double in between to load the bases with no outs. Orion Kerkering then came on in relief and surrendered a two runs single by Jose Tena to put the Nats in front 3-2. Luzardo wa charged for both runs bring his total to three runs over his six-plus innings of work.
Phillies offense struggled again in this one. Bryce Harper came up with an RBI ground out in the 3rd. Then Kyle Schwarber drove Trea Turner home with an RBI double in the 5th.

The Philadelphia Phillies topped the Texas Rangers 4-2 to notch their first sweep since June 13th-15th!
Zack Wheeler made his first start in 8 days and although his velocity was down a few miles per hour he threw five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while also striking out seven. He threw 83 pitches.
As for the offense, Bryce Harper drove in Trea Turner on an RBI double in the 4th inning, then Edmundo Sosa tied the game at two with a solo homer in the 5th. The Phillies then took the lead latter in the 5th with an RBI single by Weston Wilson. Brandon Marsh added an insurance run in the 9th with a sac fly RBI to left.
