BREAKING: Lamar Jackson will reportedly miss multiple weeks with an injury and with the Baltimore Ravens sitting at 1-3, this could be a death blow for their season. Especially, with the Pittsburgh Steelers starting to figure things out on offense at 3-1. In the NFC West, three teams sit at 3-1, but the Los Angeles Rams still seem to control the division over the Seattle Seahawks and a San Francisco 49ers team that is struggling mightily with injury. In the AFC, the West will be won by the Kansas City Chiefs as their offense is starting to get rolling as players return and the Los Angeles Chargers are being hammered by injuries. In the South, the Jacksonville Jaguars have more upside than the Indianapolis Colts even if the Colts are the more reliable team.
The New York Jets looked awful in their loss to the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football and it is worth wondering if they are the worst team in the NFL through four weeks. The Dolphins got the win, but lost Tyreek Hill in the process and it is hard to imagine the Phins will get things back on track. The Denver Broncos absolutely bullied the lifeless Cincinnati Bengals without Joe Burrow and it seems clear that despite a fast start, this Bengals season is over already. Finally, the New York Giants beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the biggest upset of Week 4, but now both teams are dealing with major injuries as Malik Nabers will be out for the season with an ACL and Joe Alt will be out a while with an ankle issue. These are devastating blows for both teams.
The Green Bay Packers went into Dallas for Micah Parsons homecoming game against the Cowboys and could not handle their business. It is hard to trust Green Bay when it matters most and the Cowboys just can't seem to do enough to win one of these games. The Kansas City Chiefs rolled the Baltimore Ravens in the best matchup of the weekend. The Chiefs offense finally got rolling and the Ravens are now in a terrible spot while dealing with a Lamar Jackson injury. The Los Angeles Rams got a huge win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts were not on the radar coming into the year, but even after the loss, the Colts should be very excited going forward. Jaxson Dart got his first start of the season for the New York Giants and got a monster upset over the Los Angeles Chargers, but the real story is how the Giants defensive line dominated an injured Chargers offensive line. In Dublin, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a big time upset over the Minnesota Vikings and now sit alone atop the AFC North.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers battle it out in an NFC heavyweight matchup, while Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes battle it out again.
On Thursday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks hung on to win late, but the Arizona Cardinals proved they are not to be taken seriously the rest of the season as their slow start on offense made it too little, too late. The best game of the weekend is between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. Both teams will be desperate for a win, but with the Chiefs being at home and the Ravens finding ways to lose, KC as the underdog makes sense. The Indianapolis Colts look like the real deal and that's why they will cover on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. International games kick back off with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings and Aaron Rodgers will find a way to take advantage of a defense he is familiar with. The Chicago Bears offense should be able to have another successful week against a bad Las Vegas Raiders defense. Finally, two terrible teams face off in Houston with the Texans against the Tennessee Titans and while the Texans are the better team, 7.5 points is too much to give up in this matchup.
THE NFC WEST IS WIDE OPEN: on Thursday Night Football we get an NFC West matchup with huge implications for the division and the conference as the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals face off. Both quarterbacks are under the microscope, but Sam Darnold has certainly outplayed Kyler Murray so far. The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens square off in a game that feels like a deathmatch that will result in one team going to 1-3, a tough place to come back from to make the playoffs. Finally, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a resurgent game from T.J. Watt in Week 3 and now have an obvious path to winning the AFC North while the Dallas Cowboys offense is set to fall off a cliff with Ceedee Lamb.
The New York Giants finally made the big change everyone has been anticipating, going with rookie Jaxson Dart at starting quarterback over Russell Wilson. It was time to make this move and gives Brian Daboll the best chance to save his job. Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan gave up play calling duties on Tuesday in a last-ditch effort to save his job as well. The Houston Texans are staring at 0-3 and now are questioning everything, but the biggest mistake the Texans made was in the offseason and there is no correcting it now. The Miami Dolphins might have a shot at getting things back on track though after their own 0-3 beginning. Finally, the San Francisco 49ers sit at 3-0, but without a big trade on defense, it is hard to see them continuing that momentum.
The Detroit Lions took it to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football and while the Lions deserve all the credit, it is hard to ignore that Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry choked away a game the Ravens should have won at home. Proving once again that you can't trust the Ravens. We got MAJOR injury news in the NFL on Monday with Nick Bosa tearing his ACL again in a tough blow for the oft-injured San Francisco 49ers, but the Dallas Cowboys also got hit hard with injuries to CeeDee Lamb and Tyler Booker. Finally, some teams seem like their season is already over like the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants and you have to wonder which head coach gets fired first.
The Philadelphia Eagles have not been at their best to start the season, but they simply will not die and they showed it again with a massive comeback victory over the Los Angeles Rams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also moved to 3-0 this week with yet ANOTHER last-minute score to seal a victory over the New York Jets. The Green Bay Packers melted down against the Cleveland Browns late leading to the biggest upset of the season so far and the same old mistakes we have seen from Packers past crept back up again. The Indianapolis Colts continued their steam-rolling of the NFL with a 41-20 victory over the lowly Tennessee Titans. On Sunday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs didn't dominate the New York Giants, but still found a way to get their first win of the season in an ugly game.
Josh Allen: The NFL's New QB1? Experts debate his rise to the top of quarterback rankings, comparing his game-changing abilities to Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
A disaster took place for the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night football in a 10-point loss to the Buffalo Bills as three Dolphins captains make critical mistakes in big moment. While the Bills won, there are still questions about their defense and how it will stand up in big moments as well. The Green Bay Packers may be the best team in football and this week they take on potentially the worst in the Cleveland Browns making the Pack one of the best bets of the weekend! A much closer matchup is the Baltimore Ravens against the Detroit Lions, but with the Lions defense finally surging, the game should be close enough for the Lions to cover the 5.5 points. Justin Herbert is on a tear right now for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Denver Broncos are not playing their best football which means the Chargers giving less than 3 points at home makes too much sense. The Minnesota Vikings may not have J.J. McCarthy, but the Cincinnati Bengals don't have Joe Burrow and that gives the advantage to the home team giving 1.5 points. Finally, the New England Patriots take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and with the Patriots coming off a big win against the Dolphins, winning at home makes a ton of sense.
