Sermon Title: FOLLOWING WITH OPEN EYESSermon Text: MARK 10:46-52Sermon Series: THE ROAD TO THE CROSS: FOLLOWING THE SUFFERING KINGBy: PTR NIC SY
SERMON NOTES
Faith cries out, comes close, and follows on.
I. FAITH CRIES OUT PERSISTENTLY
Faith doesn’t wait for perfect timing; it calls out even in imperfect places.
Reflect: When was the last time you cried out to Jesus in desperation?
When we lose sight of our desperation, we start treating Jesus like a helpful resource instead of our only hope.
II. FAITH RESPONDS TO JESUS’ CALL.
The God of the universe pauses for a single voice in the dark.
Reflect: What do you want him to do for you?
You never regret what you leave behind for Christ; you only regret what you hold on to that kept you from him.
III. FAITH FOLLOWS JESUS ON THE WAY
Reflect: Are you following?
Opened eyes lead to obedient feet.
Jesus isn’t just the destination, he is the way.
Following isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a daily choice.
The greatest gift isn’t sight. The greatest gift is being with Jesus.

Sermon Title: NOT FROM HERE
Sermon Text: 1 PETER 1:13-19 (NIV)
Guest Speaker: PTR TOM TRONO
Sermon Notes:
1 Peter 1:13-19 (NIV)
13Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 17Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
1. Stay mentally and spiritually strong in a foreign land (v. 13)
2. Do not conform to the culture of this world (v. 14)
3. Live as holy citizens of heaven (vv. 15-16)
4. Follow the higher law of God’s kingdom (v. 17)
5. Remember the cost of your heavenly citizenship (vv. 18-19)
