Raise your hands if you thought we'd never come back 🙋🏻♂️ After taking Q3 off, we're finally back with the FIRST guest of Season 3: our very own Hane Kim!
The 동네친구s welcome one of our wives onto the pod to get into the hard hitting questions, such as... how do you say her name? Honey? Hain? You have to listen to find out.
Please forgive the absolutely off the rails intro... it's been a while since we did this. So, as always: Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy this episode of LRP!
Happy Friday and hope ya'll had a great Fourth! It's been a month since our last episode. That might be too long for our supporters, not long enough for our haters but here we are with another episode with just the two 동네친구s.
We follow up on last episode's SOTW (stock of the week). Shim drops an absolute bombshell. We have a surprise bonus round. We're just trying to create a ~safe~ space for everyone.
So, as always: Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy this episode of LRP!
It's been a while. But we're back. After 2 long years and no one asking for it, the Living Room is back. The 동네친구s are now 동네 아저씨s and the banter is unreal. We catch you up to what we've been up to, big life updates, and a bit of a roadmap for where we're headed.
So, as always: Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy the return of LRP!
Yoooooooooo. Apologies for the delay, but we have another episode for ya'll in the Living Room!
Our guest for this session is none other than our friend Jay Yi! He's not the prototypical OC 동네친구. Raised in Fontana (don't you wanna?), Jay shares about a precious core memory, feelings of protection, transitioning to the OC during his college days, and much, much more. If you're a fan of dry humor, humility, and laughing... this is the episode for you.
So, as always: Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy this episode of LRP!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas~
Our guest in the Living Room this week is the notorious Brendan "BANDO" Kim. Indubitably one of the most boolin' episodes we've had. Dude rolled through in a size small Brooklyn Nets hoodie. This 동네친구 goes into extreme details about his life. Some highlights include: a demographic breakdown of Sunset Lane Elementary School, the Ivy League, journey to coding, and a whole lot more. Will this be our last episode of the season? Or will Chun and Shim find a way to scrounge up another guest? Stay tuned to find out...
But until then! Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy another episode of LRP!
We welcome another member of the prestigious Fullerton Fruit Loops to the Living Room this week: Michael "Fat Mike" Shon. Chun realizes for the first time that he has known this 동네친구 for over half his life and we dive into his life story. He shares (not talk!) about transitioning from his early plans for a business career to pastoral ministry, the long story long about how he met his girlfriend Helen, and a current family update that caught everyone off guard. Needless to say, this episode is... TOUGH.
So, take a seat! Lean back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy another episode of LRP!
We have an absolute doozy of an episode this week. Jessica Shin, the artist formerly known as JKWON, joins us in the living room to share her story. This 동네친구 is not a casual! All throughout the conversation, both on and off air, she dropped moments and inside jokes... It was kinda weird...
We talk about the generational meaning of her Korean name, our memorable first encounters, people-pleasing tendencies (which Chun resonates with HEAVY), along with her many, many accomplishments : - P It's a prolonged convo that took place over multiple days (!!!), but we're sure that you guys will all leave wanting more.
So, come on in! Lean back. Take a deep breath and exhale. Close your eyes (unless you're driving!) and enjoy this episode!
We're back this week with none other than David "@kimbapjuju" Ju in the Living Room. This good friend of the pod comes in to share his story, including a legendary night that will always connect him with Shim for an extremely unlikely reason. We barely scratch the surface on David's entire story, partly because we get derailed during our trivia section and partly because there is so much more to this 동네친구. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this episode!
We have a special guest on this episode of the pod, as one of SHIM's friends, Kevin "Bong" Shin, comes into the Living Room to share all about his Murrieta pride and upbringing. This 동네친구 brings in some hot takes, spits some wisdom, and even drops the name of a former love interest (!!!), so you're not gonna want to miss our longest episode to date!
Something about them OKC boys, man... We have one of the biggest supporters of the pod join us in the Living Room for this one, Yeon Jun Kim, as he shares all about his recent engagement, how he fell in love with Joyce, and his Occupational Therapy journey. Another great 동네친구 just sharing about his life. This OT is OD.
Stick around after the outro for a question we have for ya'll!
Wild. Honest. Raw. Completely unhinged. Just a couple of ways to describe today's episode of the Living Room. We have a highly sought after guest, Tony "@plantingencouragement" Yu, shares a story from his Lancer days and opens up about his pastoral journey. You'll understand why Tony is considered one of the nicest people our 동네친구's know after you hear this one!
P.S. Stick around after our outro song for a surprise : )
Extremely tough episode of the Living Room this week. Our good 동네친구, Danny "The Korean Zombie" Oh, walks us through his journey from childhood, to Cal State Fullerton, and even the East Coast as he pursued his passion. This is by far the most emotional session we've had. We weren't expecting it, but hey... that's life!
We have a good one for ya'll this week! One of our oldest mutual friends, Billy "Boco" No, joins us in the Living Room to talk about his journey. Another FJC alum, Billy recounts his tale of coming to America, switching schools, and his time at Quibi : O The 동네친구's really just vibe out in this episode.
We apologize for the mic issues, Billy had to resort to just his AirPods : (
We are back from our break with an exciting 동네친구, Grace H. Park! We talk to our first female guest about how she met Chun at FJC, her move to UCLA, her battle against PGD, and eventually finding her footing. She "spills the beans" and gives some wisdom that we can all learn from. Chun also apologizes for some ill-advised financial advice. Please don't sue us.
We have our second guest, Paul "Pail" Kim, to talk about his journey to USC PT. Along the way, Chun and Paul share lots of funny stories from their past and the 동네친구s have a lot of laughs.
We bring on our first guest, Daniel Roh, to talk about his journey and he gives a very important lesson at the end. Chun talks about his Stock of the Week, Shim recommends a book, and the two yap a little bit about sports as well.
We share a little bit about who we are and what we're gonna do.
