Most people believe that working a 9-5 job until they retire is the only way to live to be comfortable or productive in our world. On this podcast, we explore those who defy this societal expectation - from freelancers, entrepreneurs, nomads, artists - really anyone who chooses to live, but differently. Your host Julia and Giselle will dive deep into these alternative and avant-garde lifestyles to shed light on how it can be, not how society thinks it “must be.”

SHE BURNT BEYONCÉ'S CAKE! Meet our next guest: chef, small business owner, cooking instructor & our favorite dessert connoisseur, Samantha!

"Growing up my mom was the cake lady of the area where we lived. For years I saw her put together birthday cakes, weddings cakes, and dessert bars. Around the age of 16, I started to help my mom out with these orders. With no professional experience, I started taking on orders around 19 while I was in school for nursing. That was always a dream but by the age of 20, I toured a culinary school sat in class, and fell in love with the cooking world. After graduating from culinary school two years later, I worked for high-end hotels and was exposed to a whole new side of cooking. Dealing with celebrities left and right and working insane hours. After the hotel, I helped open a restaurant for a Michelin star chef which was incredible. I stayed there for a little while until I got a job offer at my dream job working for wolf gang puck at Spago. In 2020 I landed my current job being a chef instructor and doing my own dessert business on the side."
