It takes a village to raise a child. But who are those villagers? What do they do? What qualifications do they have? Do they have an impact? Are they just playing with babies all day? In her podcast, Barbara Lax, the founder of the Little Green House childcare centres, and her guests debunk common clichés. Learn about the joys and challenges of the job, surprising paths of life, the importance of quality early childcare, and how to make the world a better place. #16 Fiona Pimpin: Where the tea’s black, the weather’s irrelevant, and the laughs keep coming

After a few years away, Fiona returned to Little Green House with her trademark good humour, an impressive tea supply, and her gift for connecting across cultures. In this episode, she shares her path from Waldorf schooling to early childhood education, why language diversity keeps her curious, and how strong, trusting relationships are the secret to everything she does, with children, parents and colleagues alike.
She left after seven years to try something new (a classic case of the seven-year itch), but some places stay with you. Maybe it’s the people. Maybe it’s the purpose. Or maybe it’s the rare joy of working where parents get genuinely excited about black tea. Either way, we’re thrilled she’s back.
