Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People by Nadia Bolz-Weber
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/241171 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People Author: Nadia Bolz-Weber Narrator: Nadia Bolz-Weber Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 6 hours 2 minutes Release date: September 8, 2015 Ratings: Ratings of Book: 4.82 of Total 11 Ratings of Narrator: 4.86 of Total 7 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: What if that person you've been trying to avoid is your best shot at grace today? ...And what if that's the point? In Accidental Saints, New York Times best-selling author Nadia Bolz-Weber invites readers into a surprising encounter with what she calls “a religious but not-so-spiritual life.” Tattooed, angry and profane, this former standup comic turned pastor stubbornly, sometimes hilariously, resists the God she feels called to serve. But God keeps showing up in the least likely of people—a church-loving agnostic, a drag queen, a felonious Bishop and a gun-toting member of the NRA. As she lives and worships alongside these “accidental saints,” Nadia is swept into first-hand encounters with grace—a gift that feels to her less like being wrapped in a warm blanket and more like being hit with a blunt instrument. But by this grace, people are transformed in ways they couldn’t have been on their own. In a time when many have rightly become disillusioned with Christianity, Accidental Saints demonstrates what happens when ordinary people share bread and wine, struggle with scripture together, and tell each other the truth about their real lives. This unforgettable account of their faltering steps toward wholeness will ring true for believer and skeptic alike. Told in Nadia’s trademark confessional style, Accidental Saints is the stunning next work from one of today’s most important religious voices.

Title: Openness Unhindered: Further Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert on Sexual Identity and Union with Christ Author: Rosaria Champagne Butterfield Narrator: Rosaria Champagne Butterfield Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 8 hours 49 minutes Release date: July 1, 2015 Ratings: Ratings of Book: 5 of Total 2 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Before you can resolve the issues of our day, you must be able to clarify them.Terms like same-sex marriage, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gay Christian are part of daily discourse; yet enormous controversy surrounds them. They are the stuff of news headlines and vitriolic social media posts. But they also reflect stirrings of the heart in real people with real questions and concerns.Rosaria Champagne Butterfield, once a leftist professor in a committed lesbian relationship and now a confessional Christian, but always the thoughtful and compassionate professor, has written a followup to The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert. This book answers many of the questions people pose when she speaks at universities and churches, questions not only about her unlikely conversion to Christ but about personal struggles that the questioners only dare to ask someone else who has traveled a long and painful journey.Dr. Butterfield not only goes to great lengths to clarify some of today's key controversies, she also traces their history and defines the terms that have become second nature today-even going back to God's original design for marriage and sexuality as found in the Bible. She cuts to the heart of the problems and points the way to the solution, which includes a challenge to the church to be all that God intended it to be, and for each person to find the true freedom that is found in Christ.Chapters include: ·Conversion: the Spark of a New Identity ·Identity: the Flame of Our Union in Christ ·Repentance: the Threshold to God and the Answer to Shame, Temptation, and Sin ·Sexual Orientation: Freud’s 19th Century Category Mistake ·Self-Representation: What Does It Mean to Be “gay”? ·Conflict: When Sisters Disagree ·Community: Representing Christ to the World

Our Present Condition and Our Hope by F.G. Patterson
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/237552 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Our Present Condition and Our Hope Series: #23 of Brethren Writers Library Author: F.G. Patterson Narrator: Alex Wyndham Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 5 hours 0 minutes Release date: June 12, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Our Present Condition and our Hope by F.G. Patterson shows the believer as to the past, a suffering, dead and risen Christ; as to the present, the association of the people of God with Him in a pathway of suffering and rejection; and as to the future, His coming again in glory, and taking to Him His great power to reign, and our association with Him in His glory. OUR PRESENT CONDITION: The Lord left his servants to carry on His heavenly mission here below. He set “every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch,” He says, “What I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch.”  Our blessed occupation here  is “To serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven”  In one way or another, He has given us something to do for Him, and He is coming back to ascertain how each is discharging the duty given him, and at an “hour ye think not.” Therefore ‘Let your loins be girded, and your lights burning.’ Our HOPE: The Lord will come again in power and great glory - the great event which will bring about all this glory for which He waits and we wait. It is near, beloved brethren; the heart feels conscious that it is so; and the present action of the Holy Spirit marks it as very close at hand. By examining the two letters to the Thessalonians,  F.G Patterson  reminds us of what we have to look forward to.  He also shows us that the ‘Coming’ and the ‘Appearing’ are two entirely different things, as are  the ‘Great White Throne’ and the ‘Judgement Seat of Christ’. Publisher’s note. This book is part of the Brethren Writers Library series. These books go forth with the purpose of introducing the listener to the writings of men who were gifted of God as teachers ‘for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ’. The High Priest's Garments by W. W. Fereday

Fereday Narrator: Alex Wyndham Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 0 hours 42 minutes Release date: May 21, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: In ‘The High Priest’s Garments’, W.W. Fereday illuminates the typical character of the ancient ritual. Because Israel's ritual pointed to Christ, the smallest details are given. Nothing is too small for notice that in any way speaks of God's beloved Son. Let us clearly understand where priesthood comes in, in the ways of God. When Israel was in Egypt, groaning under the yoke of Pharaoh, God did not provide a priest but a saviour. But when the people were delivered, having come under the blood of the Lamb, and having passed through the Red Sea, then — and not till then — did God say anything about a priest. In like manner today, the Saviour is God's provision for the burdened sinner, and the Priest is God's provision for the delivered saint. It is the “holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,” who are exhorted to consider the Apostle and High Priest of their confession (Hebrews 3:1). Priesthood is not designed to bring men into relationship with God, but rather to help those who are already in relationship with God. This book is part of the Brethren Writers Library series. These books go forth with the purpose of introducing the listener to the writings of men who were gifted of God as teachers ‘for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ’. Egypt to Canaan by John Ritchie
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/234495 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Egypt to Canaan Series: #15 of Brethren Writers Library Author: John Ritchie Narrator: Paul Ansdell Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 4 hours 21 minutes Release date: April 23, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: In From Egypt to Canaan John Ritchie traces the epic journey of the Israelites from their redemption by blood all the way to the promised land. These incidents in Israel's history are illustrative pictures or ‘types’ (in the book of Hebrews they are called patterns, figures, and shadows) from which God will teach us important spiritual lessons if we are willing to learn them. It is profitable to hear about these things to learn again of the power and grace of God, the love and sacrifice of our Saviour, and the never-failing resources available for us as we travel through the wilderness of this world. Christ is the key to all these parts of Holy Scripture for everything was pointing forward to Him. This was an unholy and often stiffnecked people (like ourselves) amenable to the wrath of a holy God, yet how wonderful it is to see how God would find a way by which He might dwell among them and fulfil His purposes about them. “Egypt is a figure of this world where Satan rules, where the flesh is ministered to, and where it has plenty to feed upon, and where as sinners we are found to be the servants of Satan.”“Canaan is not really a type of what a believer enters after death when he departs to be with Christ, for there we shall be at rest. In Canaan we must handle the sword and shield, as in Ephesians 6, in conflict with wicked spirits who would dispute our right and hinder our enjoyment of what grace has given to us…”  The short chapters of this book are self-contained studies of topics of spiritual value. In the belief that such teaching is timeless in its relevance and applicability, this is a new edition in a style, format and language suited to the present day.

Jesus, Bread, and Chocolate: Crafting a Handmade Faith in a Mass-Market World by John J Thompson
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/230693 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Jesus, Bread, and Chocolate: Crafting a Handmade Faith in a Mass-Market World Author: John J Thompson Narrator: John J Thompson Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 5 hours 40 minutes Release date: April 7, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: The good news without additives  It’s happening everywhere we look: the industrial, the synthetic, and the mass-produced are making way for the artisanal, the organic, and the small-batch. We care about how things are made. We want to invest in our neighbor, not a distant executive. We choose to spend more for responsibly produced, locally sold, higher quality chocolate than for the Hershey bar we enjoyed a few years ago.  The popularity of farmers markets, bakery bread, house concerts, craft-brewed beer, and boutique coffee shops reflects this renewed interest in important premodern ethics, but is there a deeper truth here to be discovered by people of faith? Might these distinctly earthy things possess a uniquely biblical flavor amidst a culture of automation and excess?

Coates Narrator: Stuart Packer Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 1 hour 16 minutes Release date: March 9, 2015 Ratings: Ratings of Book: 5 of Total 1 Ratings of Narrator: 5 of Total 1 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Three Selected Short Writings by CA Coates: Peace with GodThere are four things which hinder souls from having Peace: Coates uses four Old Testament pictures to show how every question in connection with these four things has been met and settled for the believer, for example, “Many be¬lievers in Jesus do not know that their sins are put away….actually carried out of God’s sight, and removed from before Him by being borne by Jesus”  Three scenes of JudgementIn this section ‘The Sacrifice of Isaac’, ‘The casting out of Ishmael’ and ‘The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah’ are examined. As Coates says, ‘May the truths typified by these Three Scenes of Judgment have such a place in our souls that each one of us may have unclouded Peace and Joy, and be found in distinct Testimony for the One who is rejected by the world” What meanest Thou? A short gospel message: “I would have you to consider carefully that indifference to the gospel is a sin of no ordinary kind ; it is pure and simple wickedness…..It is at an infinite cost that God has secured for Himself in righteousness the title of Saviour God. The Son has been given ; Jesus has died ; and the whole universe can see at the cross of Christ that God is neither indifferent to sin, nor to the need of His poor creature who has fallen under its  power…… Let me say, then, very briefly, that through a crucified, risen, and glorified Saviour—the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord —God is proclaiming the forgiveness of sins, and eternal salvation.” A word about the author: Charles Andrew Coates (1862 -1945) was born in Bradford, England and died in Teignmouth, Devon. Saved when a young man, he never enjoyed robust health and the many occasions when he was laid aside through illness were put to good use in prayerful meditation and the study of Holy Scripture. Because of his ill health Coates could not go about teaching and preaching, but he could not be idle for his Lord, so instead he produced many tracts and books, and he also used his poetical ability to compose a number of poems and hymns. This book is part of the Brethren Writers Library series. These books go forth with the purpose of introducing the listener to the writings of men who were gifted of God as teachers ‘for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ’. Darby Narrator: Stuart Packer Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 1 hour 0 minutes Release date: February 18, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: JND was a prodigious writer who had a major influence on evangelical thinking in the 19th Century. Here are just a few of his articles. Man Fallen and The Seed of the Woman, Genesis Chapter 3:“Satan is active, and his power consists in producing distrust, and this where there is happiness and intimate relation with God - to darken, and, if possible, destroy all in the heart.Eve listened to and believed Satan, in place of listening to God and believing Him; and this is just what man is ever doing, but God pronounces judgment on the enemy, and in the midst of it the revelation is made of the Saviour, for the suffering second Man, the woman's Seed, is Son of God, the true God, and eternal life, who became man, to die for sinners and destroy the works of the devil.” God's House and The Way, Psalm 84:“Would not such a thought as being in God's court, as men dwelling in God's own house, greatly delight and surprise us, if heard for the first time and its meaning understood? It is this new thing - that men should dwell in God's own house; not be there merely as a visitor, but a dweller. Is the hope of the Lord's coming your daily delight? Does it influence you in the ten thousand details of your every-day life? Or are you so walking hand in hand with The World that the very thought of His Coming fills you with shame?” Death with Christ , Romans Chapter 6:“The application of ‘Christ dead and risen’ to the believer's walk,The motive to, yea ground of, a Christian life is that we died with Christ; and we have life through a dead Christ, with whom we died."Walk in newness of life." "Have your fruit unto holiness." But the great doctrine of grace is - saved by a mediator.” A word about the author: John Nelson DARBY (1800 -1882) came from an Anglo-Irish landowning family seated at Leap Castle, King's County, Ireland. His middle name was given in recognition of his godfather and family friend, Lord Nelson.Born at Westminster, he was educated at Westminster School, then at Trinity College, Dublin. He was studying for Law when he was gloriously saved and felt that being a lawyer was inconsistent with his religious belief, so he studied divinity instead. Around 1830 he joined an interdenominational meeting of believers (including Anthony Norris Groves, Edward Cronin, J. G. Bellett) who met to "break bread" together in Dublin as a symbol of their unity in Christ. By 1832, this group had grown and began to identify themselves as a distinct Christian assembly. As they travelled and began new assemblies in Ireland and England, they formed the movement now commonly called ‘Brethren’. He used his classical skills to translate the Bible from Hebrew and Greek texts into several languages. In English he wrote a Synopsis of the Bible and many other scholarly religious articles. He wrote hymns and poems, the most famous being, "Man of Sorrows”.

Kingscote Narrator: Paul Ansdell Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 2 hours 58 minutes Release date: February 18, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Christ as seen in the Offerings is a classic work by RF Kingcote which takes up in a simple way some of the offerings mentioned in Leviticus – a book which is commonly passed over as if it were not relevant to us today, but which is full of rich typical teaching. The author expounds very clearly the meaning of the offerings which are brought before us, which are types or pictures given by the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ's Person and work and of what results to us through that work which has much relevance to us today. As the author explains; “The burnt offering, the meat offering, the peace offering and the sin offering are brought before us by the Holy Spirit in order to make clear to our minds four different aspects of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, just as in the New Testament the Holy Spirit has given us, in the four Gospels, four different views of the Lord's Person, and also the blessings which have become ours through what He has done.” Illustrating various truths of the gospel, the author helps us to understand the sweet savor offerings and the sin offerings and encourages us to appreciate more deeply the magnitude, the meaning & the gloriousness of the Lord Jesus Christ’s sinless life and finished work. A word about the author: Capt. Robert F. Kingscote  (1811 – 1893)  was of the old family of Kingscote of Kingscote, Gloucestershire,  Capt. Kingscote was in the Royal Lancers, but on his conversion he left the Army. Title: Whatever the Cost: Facing Your Fears, Dying to Your Dreams, and Living Powerfully Author: Jason Benham, David Benham Narrator: Jason Benham, David Benham Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 6 hours 11 minutes Release date: February 17, 2015 Ratings: Ratings of Book: 5 of Total 2 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: “Two nationally-acclaimed real estate entrepreneurs share biblical principles to revolutionize your work and family life, and give you the courage to stand up for what is right.” This book follows the story of highly motivated and entrepreneurial twin brothers, David and Jason Benham, from their formative years and ventures into professional baseball to their rise as owners of a multi-million dollar business empire and securing an HGTV reality series. It’s a journey where the brothers learned how they must die to their dreams not just once, but twice as they walked away from baseball before being called up to the Big Show and later as their TV series was stripped away from them just before airing when the network succumbed to media pressures surrounding their faith. These experiences only helped them realize that the key to powerful living is found when you die to your dreams and face your fears, and choose to live powerfully through it all. The biblical principles they implemented to guide their work and families are revealed in practical terms to apply to our daily lives and give us courage to stand for what is right. The book will expand on principles such as: - Show that You are Faithful in Little - Be a Fountain to Others and not a Drain - Produce More in Value than You Receive - Work to Your Ability and not Your Pay - Breathe Life into All Situations - Remember that You are Human Beings, not Human Doings - Hold to a Standard of Disciplined Living - Don’t Swing at Every Pitch - Find Your Greatest Blessings on the Other Side of Your Greatest Fears

Title: The Way Out: Christianity, Politics, and the Future of the African American Community: Ted Williams III Author: Ted Williams III Narrator: Ted Williams III Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 3 hours 0 minutes Release date: January 13, 2015 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: The African-American community represents a paradox of sorts. While collective success has been achieved in many areas, African-Americans still disproportionately suffer from a variety of social ills. The residual impact of years of slavery and exclusion from the major institutions of American life are still trenchant. Yet, there is hope. As we move forward into a new millennium, our greatest answers can be found by exploring the past. The Christian faith has served as a sustaining force that has been the backbone of this community for generations. This faith, along with a holistic commitment to family, political participation, education, and entrepreneurship, are the key to its future. The Way Out tackles this issue with a mature voice that represents a juxtaposition of faith and public policy. It rejects the culture of partisan gridlock, racial division, and religious cynicism by fostering a fresh and pluralistic discourse about some of the nation

The conspicuous feature of his life was that he lived and laboured in the Christian Faith, and was constrained to do so by personal experience of the love of Christ. At an early age he became a full-time worker in the service of Christ in UK Assemblies. His gifts from God manifested themselves in three different ways: firstly as evangelist; secondly as teacher; and lastly as publisher. He wrote several valuable books, “Outlines of Truth”, "The Great Salvation" and another one equally valuable "Foundations of the Faith". He also edited and contributed many articles to a small periodical called "Edification" and for many years "Scripture Truth".  This book is part of the Brethren Writers Library series. These books go forth with the purpose of introducing the listener to the writings of men who were gifted of God as teachers ‘for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ’. Many of their writings are freely available online at Stem publishing.com. Reproduced in this format  with the kind permission of copyright holders Scripture Truth Publications,31-33 Glover Street, Crewe, Cheshire CW1 3LD and is available in printed form entitled ‘Salvation’ ISBN 0-901860-17-4 from www.scripture-truth.org.ukWords by the Wayside, 2014.
