As things open more and more, our calendar starts to fill up with gigs. We talk about backing artists, and the process of learning multiple sets of music at once. Sup everyone! Since we have an affinity for experimentation, this was our first time (well, second) recording remotely. We talk about some cool festivals we are going to be a part of in the spring, briefly discuss the Grammys (our prediction was correct!), and share some genre-spanning music. Jeremy talks about the weird things going on in his life: coincidence? manifestation? or glitches in the matrix? Tune in to find out!
Well the snow has thawed in Austin, and we are more or less back to normal! On this episode we talk about our upcoming residency, share some music, and discuss some topics brought to the table like Tiger Woods and ASMR. This one features a special guest, Jeff Carlson (that’s Jeremy’s brother, AKA “Sachi”), the host of his own podcast titled “River of Consciousness”.
Join us as we go down a crazy rabbit hole on Omegle and interview a bunch of random guests, including a guy from California wearing what appear to be sweatpants on his head, someone on a train in Hong Kong, and f-bomb Diego from Washington State.

Live from the Airbnb in Fort Worth... IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT! We are trying something new this episode: a pop-up pawcast, if you will. This one was a party! Lion Heights is in the middle of a three day run with Dem Roots Music outta Houston/Galveston. Louis Morales (songwriting, vocals, guitar, graphic design) speaks on the recording and writing process for his tune on “Blank Check” (we played it for ya ep 7). Ally Lopez (saxophone) chats about linking up with Dem, and her first time at Tall Sky Studio recording new music with the group... oh, and she did our intro too!

Welcome to the first PAWcast of the new year! With each new year comes new responsibilities (I made that up btw). We start as always by talking about upcoming LH events: first shows of the new year, “Blank Check” riddim release. Tom shares some weird music (not reggae… EW!) and Dane shares some insight on one of his musical influences, HR & Bad Brains. We briefly engage in some Trump Talk (new segment??) with the invasion of the U.S. Capitol fresh on our minds, and we close with an interview from Fyah Sthar - a Dallas reggae/dancehall artist featured on our new riddim… 2021?? I know this year’s gonna be a good one!
Less than a week til Christmas! As 2020 comes to a long-awaited close, we reminisce on a years worth of studio time at Tall Sky. We share our musical picks of the week, including some new releases by local TX bands. Finally, we talk about our influences growing up as young musicians. Pretty straightforward this week! We’re all headed home for the holidays, so if we can’t get a remote recording session figured out, we will see ya in the new year!
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. As musicians, we were more or less forced to find ways to stay productive off-stage. There’s a new LH release on the horizon that’s unlike anything we’ve done before! Plus, gig opportunities start to pop back up in time for spring (fingers crossed). We discuss the future of Austin’s staple music festival, a Bob Marley musical in the works, and the possible existence of a Galactic Federation??

On our sophomore episode, we welcome Tom to the PAWcast! We talk about our Spotify Wrapped and share “new” music with each other (I think we’re gonna make this a reoccurring segment). Dane breaks down the Reggae Grammy noms, we talk about Donny T and his recent politricks, and our experience with internet haters. “Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest” (wink wink).
This is the first podcast that Lion Heights has released. Having their own studio has proven beneficial once again as James, Jeremy and Dane are able to quickly catch their thoughts on shows, working in the studio, current music as well as other topics yet to be known.
In this episode they talk about their recent single, Reggae on the Rise and how it came about. They go over their latest performances and the impact COVID has had on musicians lives. This episode is just a glimpse of what’s to come when they get out from behind their instruments and sit down together behind some microphones.
