The title says it all. The news cycle of nonsense keeps coming at us that even taking a week of from things makes it nearly impossible to keep up with the news cycle. Lewis is down in North Carolina but just because he’s not sitting in his public access studio right now doesn’t mean the ridiculousness took a break. Our president decided to give a speech to our military industrial complex. Oh, and he brought along a hedgehog for his opening act. Seems redundant to continue to ask where the adults are in the room but we did see the adults and they were our military leaders who traveled from afar and were “treated” to a 50 minute rambling speech. This week’s rants include ridiculous ideas for Canada to deliver water, one that attempts to define what a bagel is, different liquor flavors, and a slightly unhinged one about the treatment of kittens. Well, this past week was event-filled. Absolutely insane events like The Boss’ birthday parade thinly veiled as a celebration of America’s military. While that event appeared to be a dud, it still positioned our military personnel as Toy Soldiers. If that wasn’t enough to infuriate you Toy Soldiers were also being utilized in LA to settle non-existent unrest. Madness has taken its hold on all of us. In Lewis’ case it’s actually been Mucho More Madness. He’s tired of talking about it, but what “it” is even is under debate because the truth doesn’t matter. WTF might just be the best way to collectively describe what’s happening currently. As we head into the long holiday weekend we’re reminded of how much that simple phrase can define things. This past weekend we celebrated our Mothers. While they are the most important people in the world to most, to Catholics around the world the selection of a new Pope also ranks up there in importance. White smoke was seen at The Vatican and we have ourselves a new pontiff and this one
