If You Need a Moment to Breathe | Episode 5

Working through life can be incredibly exhausting. It’s always one thing after the next, and if you forget about yourself, you’ll miss out on giving yourself the space to exist in the moment. At least, that’s what I tell myself. Things have ranged from heartbreaking, to busy, to doubt, and to fear. It’s been hard to be present when all I can think about is “I wish I could be doing more.” But should I? In this episode, if you need a moment to breathe, then breathe with me as I remind myself to be present.

The inspiration for this episode came from the film, Perfect Days. It’s a film about a sanitation worker who cleans bathrooms in Tokyo. He lives a relatively drama-free life with the same rituals every day. But despite coming from a family of means, he prides himself with the work he does. Every morning as he leaves his front door to greet his work van, he looks up at the sky and smiles. Ever afternoon, he has lunch and takes photos of the light coming through the branches. He drives from location to location listening to the music he loves on cassette tapes. And he ends his days reading classic literature. He lives a life of intention, always in the moment, and the film was the perfect reminder for that daily ritual.

Last Fall | Episode 4
My father passed in November, and I'm not sure how to process or move on from this. At the funeral, there wasn't even time to grieve with the more than 200 people that came to pay their respects. It was truly a blur. But, if there's one thing that I know, it's that my father was loved by everyone because of his kindness, and I want to be just like him to continue that legacy.Song creditNot Blue by Kylie Daileylicensed via Epidemic SoundsText, Music, and VO by Peter Xiong @cellobuddySupport th...

Sunbreak | Episode 2
SunbreakSometimes, as I wake, there's this calmness. Whether it's from you or the morning sun, there's something hanging. It's in the air. It's in the rays that rays that escape the blinds. The dust that flies around in the sun's winding path. Today is just a day. There's no special night planned. No surprises I could think of. Just you and the morning Sun.Tomorrow is just the same. Between the Sun and you, you're both a part of my morning ritual. But on most days, today is just like yesterday...

Your Gardener | Episode 1
Dedicated to Carol Your Gardener You sit perched in a field of beauty Blowing along with the wind The hungry stubborn violet Always starving for something more Not yet knowing How far your roots can dig Or the spring you could have Your potential unknown Your growth unimagined Your color a mystery Then we found each other I had little to offer But water and care All I wanted Was to be your gardener You asked How d...
