Welcome! We apologise for the delay and for clarity there is no compensation on offer but you do get to hear us talk with the most wonderful Dr Lauren Speeth on her work in the area of music for hope and healing. Her bio is so extensive we can't note it below as we would no doubt run out of characters, so do check out the links below to learn more about Lauren and the great work she does.
As usual, Becky and Izzy catch up in the last half to talk torrid times, tariffs and somewhat unexpectedly segue from Jeff Bezos's problematic spaceship to Hamsters and of course we also name check some recent music must haves doing it for our own mental health.
Note: our website is being revamped and we will soon have a new email, if you'd like to comment, send us croissants or get involved then please DM Izzy through the podcasts insta account - link below!

Izzy checks in with Google AI doomsday bot Gemini about her current sad arm status.
We will be back soon with all new episodes and more on our ever so slightly changed look.
As the pod celebrates its 0.5 years of existence, we ( Izzy and Dr Becky) take some time to reflect on the previous episodes and look to what may lie ahead. There are some subtle changes on the horizon for our baby pod which we share with you during this episode as well as the usual mix of nonsense and attempts at bringing insightful and enlightening information to the airwaves.

Hey guys welcome to the fifth full episode of Soul Music. Happy Cinco de Mayo, grab a Margarita and perhaps a delicious taco and settle down to listen to our interview with Robin Allender, a man of many talents and a supreme fan of music in general.
Of course Izzy catches up with Dr Becky to close the episode and obviously you can all expect to cross talking about French music off your bingo cards.

Ahead of the next weeks new full episode, which features some hot Beatles takes*, here's another Izzy vs AI in which we thankfully conclude that Paul McCartney is not a psychopath.
*Not hot takes
Welcome to the fourth full episode in which we meet up virtually with Mitch Hall, a Holistic Health and Wellness Educator and Counsellor with a wealth of experience in how music can support, soothe and heal. We talk about his time in Africa as well as France (of course) and gain some wonderful insights as we listen to Mitch talk about his rich life so far. Of course the nonsense is never too far way and to close the episode we chat about the music that got us through March as well treating you to Becky's wonderful impression of Bernie Sanders, Izzy's not so wonderful mimicry of Count Von Count and why Izzy doesn't appreciate her shopping trips being sound tracked by songs about Coffee.

Another bonus minisode in which we catch up with Izzy's further adventures in relationship building with an AI Bot. They're getting closer but the progress is delayed somewhat by Bot's sheer refusal to acknowledge the greatness of Alex Turner and its unfortunate descent into innuendo about her dinner ingredients.

Hey gang, we are at the mood boost cafe today and on the menu are burritos and hair metal as Izzy talks to her old pal Tom, a mental health nurse, a fan of music as well as being a musician himself. There is chat about the song that helped him through a dark and challenging time as well as music for all moods. Hey Tom.. you come home happy from work, what you putting on? Turns out the after work happiness may be elusive but some "gentle" persuasion does result in a choice.
We also have a catch up with Dr Becky stateside, pick the tracks that shepherded us through February and Izzy issues a crucial redaction involving grain.

Another bonus Izzy Vs Ai and could it really be that there is only one contemporary song in existence that has a timpani drum intro? Dr Google thinks so, but at least he understands the importance of proper nutrition.

We are back with another bonus minisode and Izzy goes head to head with Google's AI bot Gemini again who, in ultra sassy mode, insists on talking about the Super Bowl whether she wants to hear it or not. Plus, an unexpected Donkey Kong reference and what's the best Bond theme...spoiler alert, it's not Skyfall.

Bonus Minisode where Izzy get's real about her current crisis of confidence which is all consuming despite the fact that David Bowie would probably have approved of her excellent shirt.
CONTENT WARNING: Mental Health, Suicide and Self Harm
Welcome to the next full podisode....in which, we delve into how some simple (but actually complex) pop helped saved a life alongside learning that, unbelievably, there are people who have never heard of Sparkle Motion. Of course we also have a crucial Moomin sound update, a glimpse into the fascinating origins of Music Therapy in Turkey and narrowly avoid insulting two great nations. Stay tuned for the close and our doffing of our caps to one of the greatest creators of recent times.

A little sneak peak behind the scenes of the production meeting for the next full episode of the Pod, ETA, well sometime in early February, barring WW3 or a massive Coronal Mass Ejection, and yes Izzy has been watching too many unnerving YouTube videos....

AI is everywhere and don't get us wrong, one of us really appreciates being able to command good old Alexa to switch one of their many fairy light strings off remotely. Yet still reluctance to engage beyond this remains low. In this tiny minisode, Izzy gets to grips with Google's new live AI feature, in the hope that one day it will be useful enough to, say, write a show whilst she sits back and eats too much cheese.
We now have a website with all the links you could ever need (6 if you must know) : https://www.songsthatsavedus.co.uk/
A little sneak peak behind the scenes from the planning "meeting" for the next full episode due out in February 2025. 2025! AS IF.
