In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses, Life, Living, Sarah Watt talks with Viv Adcock about communicating with animals, and how having no point of view opens up a space not only for true communication and communion with your animal, but for different possibilities to show up.
Animals so desire to communicate with us; they desire to be truly received and connected to and cared for. And, when people want to communicate with their animals, they generally want to know if they are doing the right thing and if there is anything they can do to make their animal happier.
When you include animal communication, it's like you open to a whole new world because you are communicating in the language of energy; which is the first language of everything that we share on this planet. So, communicating with animals is really about increasing your energetic capacities.
Are you ready to totally receive with no projected result or expected outcome?

This episode was recorded after what I can only describe as a whirlwind of change for me. I've recently moved to a new part of the country, i have new horses arriving, and its a whole new rhythm of living. What better way to return to the podcast than by diving into a conversation that’s been close to my heart for a long time: the horses of India.
Alison Cox and Komal Vaishnav joined me for this one. Alison has travelled across the world with Conscious Horse, Conscious Rider, and Komal shared how one week of CHCR in Italy completely changed her world and even led to her first horse. Together we talk about the history and magic of the Marwari horses, the contrast between beauty and hardship in India, and the extraordinary resilience of horses who even without eyes or strength are still willing to trust and contribute.
We also explore what happens in a CHCR class, how quickly the energy of a whole barn or even a city can shift, and the way horses invite us to lead, to trust, and to step into a space of communion with our bodies and our choices.
As Alison said in our chat, “What can we contribute to you?” is one of the most powerful questions you can bring to a horse, to a person, or even to the future.
This episode is an invitation to see beyond judgment, beyond figuring it out, and into the wonder that horses are always ready to show us.

I’m so excited to share this conversation with Toma Harper on “Let’s Talk Horses, Life and Living.” I sat down with her to uncover how a simple hoof-trimming workshop ignited her passion for what she calls a “pedal paradise,” and why scattered laneways to water, shelter and hay invite our horses to move as nature intended.
Together we explore how you can begin with just an electric-tape loop and two hay stations, and how listening to your herd over time reveals the design that feels most alive. Tune in and join us in leaning into curiosity, sense-making and playful experimentation your paddock and your partnership with your horse will never look the same.

You won’t find a lot of fuss or fancy language here—just the truth, and a lot of mud under the fingernails.
Amy Dell-Anthony is the founder of Abbott’s View Livery in the UK—a place where horses are allowed to be horses, mistakes are shared as freely as successes, and the business plan is written in hoof prints rather than spreadsheets.
Amy didn’t set out to be an influencer, or even an expert. She just kept listening—to the horses that threw her, the ones that picked her, and the quiet ones standing in the back, coping. A degree in animal behaviour and welfare gave her the science, but it was daily life with her cob Buck that gave her the questions worth asking. Why do we do things this way? What if there’s another possibility?
Abbott’s View is a working example of what happens when you put the horse’s needs above tradition, and let curiosity lead the way. Her track system wasn’t built to be impressive. It was built because nothing else worked. Every fence, sand pit, and experiment has been tested, tweaked, and sometimes torn down. Perfection isn’t the point. Presence is.
Amy is the author of The Track Book — a practical, honest how-to for anyone ready to start (wherever they are, whatever their land, whatever their budget). She consults with horse owners across the UK, and dreams of helping more people around the world give their horses the lives they actually deserve.
If you’re after someone who’ll tell you the truth about what horses need, what works, what doesn’t—and who’s not afraid to say, “I’m still learning”—you’re in the right place.

This week on Let’s Talk Horses, Life & Living, Sarah Watt sits down with Tasmin Maher, a South African rider and coach who learned early that real success has less to do with perfect rounds and everything to do with finding joy in the process.
Tasmin’s story isn’t about trophies or training secrets—it’s about building a life around horses because you love it, not because anyone else expects you to. She shares what it’s like growing up with horses as family, why pressure doesn’t have to steal your joy, and how the real victories are often the small, steady wins you share with your horse when nobody else is watching.
If you’ve ever needed permission to slow down, to listen instead of force, or to remember why you started in the first place, this episode is for you. Sarah and Tasmin talk about heartbreak and healing, about the partnership that can only be built over years, and about what happens when you finally let go of perfection and just show up—for your horse, and for yourself.
So come as you are—bring your questions, your curiosity, and your tiredness if you need it. Settle in for a conversation that invites you to find your own rhythm, wherever you are in your journey.

What does it really take to live in presence—with horses, with people, with your life?
In this honest and wide-ranging episode, Sarah Watt welcomes back horseman and educator Scott Purdum for a conversation that weaves through hoof care, burnout, redefining success, and the art of saying no. They talk barefoot vs. shod, working with difficult horses, asking for help, and what it means to meet others—human or equine—exactly where they are.
It’s a conversation about permission. To change your mind. To step back. To charge more. To choose less. To listen more deeply. To live more presently.
What if the thing you thought you had to push through… was actually the moment you got to choose something greater?

In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses: Life & Living, Sarah sits down with Suzy Godsey—animal communicator, Access Consciousness facilitator, and steward of a world where animals speak… and we finally learn to listen.
In this gentle yet potent conversation, Suzy invites us into a different way of being with the creatures around us—from the dog at our feet to the horse in the paddock to the unseen beings in nature we often overlook. What if animals weren’t here to be trained or managed, but to contribute to our lives in ways we've never imagined?
Tune in for stories that will soften your edges, open your world, and leave you wondering…
What are the animals showing me that I’ve never acknowledged before?

This week on Let’s Talk Horses, Life & Living, Sarah Watt is joined by Morne Lembke Minnie—South African horseman and quiet storm of awareness.
If you’ve ever been told to “be the boss” with your horse, this conversation might just untangle everything you thought you knew about leadership, control, and communication.
Morne doesn’t use force. He doesn’t shout. He listens—and horses lean in. Together, Sarah and Morne explore the spaces between language and being, between stillness and choice, and how horses show us who we are when we stop trying to prove anything.
This isn’t just a chat about horsemanship—it’s about presence, perception, and trusting yourself in the moments when nothing makes sense… and yet everything is alive.

In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses, Life & Living, Sarah Watt talks with Viv Adcock about the space that animals invite you to and the receiving you can have with them, if you are willing to.
Viv is a facilitator of a specialty of Access Consciousness called Talk To The Animals, which is based around the fact that we can all actually communicate with animals. It's a very different energetic contribution; if you are willing to hear it and receive it. And, your bond with the animal, the communion, the oneness that you can have exponentializes!
There's a lot more we could glean from these amazing beings if we were willing to ask and receive.

In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses, Life & Living, Sarah Watt talks with Gareth Maré about his approach to training horses. He has always maintained that horses are not out to ‘get us’ and can't be ‘naughty’; they are just responding from the pool of their experiences and trying to survive.
For Gareth, educating people that horses are essentially a peaceful animal is very important, and he uses equine neurological science to back up his relaxed approach to training.

This week on Let’s Talk Horses, Life and Living, I sat down with returning guest Jim Greendyk - horseman, storyteller, father, and one of the most real people I know.
We talk horses, of course - about training young mares who show up like fire-breathing dragons, about the consistency (and chaos) of the process, and about knowing when to ride harder or simply walk away.
But more than that, this episode is about life.
It’s about discipline without force.
About trusting yourself when the numbers don’t add up.
About staying true to your direction - even if no one else is following.
It’s also about what social media doesn’t show you - and the price some people are paying because of that.
Jim’s wisdom isn’t polished. It’s not prepackaged. It’s lived. Gritty. And quietly brilliant.

In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses, Life, Living, Sarah Watt talks with Simone Milasas about the connection and contribution you can have and be with a horse, even if it lives on the opposite side of the globe.
Simone lives in Australia and her horse, Pluma, lives in Costa Rica. She only sees Pluma a couple of times a year, yet she is such a contribution to her life. Whether you own a horse or not, both Sarah and Simone highly recommend that you find a horse and just hang out. You’ll be glad you did!

Have you been trying to change something and it’s not changing?
There's a lot of people with a lot of things going on in their lives right now. Whatever is showing up for you, you've got this!
In this episode of Let’s Talk Horses, Life, Living, Sarah Watt talks with her brother, Brendon Watt about what’s been happening in his life since his recovery journey from alcoholism began 5 ½ years ago.
He had gone from having a point of view about himself as being a total loser and a nobody, to everybody looking at him as a somebody; and quickly. He was facilitating big classes and people were going, "Brendon's amazing," and he was trying to come up with an image to keep up with all of that, coupled with alcoholism, which is not a good mix.
Brendon had to get really present with his choices and have the courage to choose something different, as you can only change something that you are willing to be aware of. Ultimately, there are no bad or wrong choices as long as whatever comes of that choice you take the information and use it for the next choice that you make. It creates this place where we become responsible for the choices we make, but not in a way of making anything wrong or right.
It's been a journey, and Brendon says he wouldn't change any of it as every part of it has taught him something different.
So, put one foot In Front of the other and keep going. And, what else is possible you've never considered?
