I was inspired to do this episode listening to Conan O' Brien chat with a life long friend of his--Lisa Kudrow.
I talk about what success is not and what I think it is. I share that I believe that part of our work as an actor is to prepare ourselves for success so that we NOW know how to take care of ourselves and stop believing that success will fix everything and give us love.
I also talk about being grateful NOW for everything in your life and not putting it off until you are successful.
Thanx for listening.
Today I go through what I keep track of in my audition log and how I use that information. I also go through the process of getting an audition as well as what you will find on an audition notice. Full notes are below.
This episode was inspired by watching a video from one of my favorite rabbit holes on YouTube--Cults. I cam across one that the leader reminded me of an experience I had with a Life Coach out here in LA. Don't worry, I didn't join, but eh language this cult leader was using sounded eerily similar. I also talk about another time it felt like things were getting "culty" with a spiritual group which prompted me to leave it.
I redid this episode do to audio quality...again...sigh
Today I talk about why the advice of "Be Nice" really bothers me and I why I don't think it applies. I also have another "Tale from the Background" sans music. I also explain that being nice is about YOUR intention and not someone else's judgement of you.

So I've had a couple of BIG...HUGE..."OMG!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT" auditions this year. In this episode I talk about how I dealt with all the worries and negative thoughts I had with an audition that I knew I could possibly book.
I also talk about why I was excited for this audition and what I talked about with the Casting Director.
AND...
I give you a trick to use for doing a "walk and talk" so you land on your mark.
The process to get help with negative worries is as follows:
1. get a notebook
2. write out each negative thought/worry leaving several lines of space between each
3. Challenge each one with the question "Is this realistic and rational?"
4. Write down your answer and why (be ok with the answer being "yes" it may be realistic based on your experience and then challenge it again because there still may be a "no")
Thanx for listening!!
Last time we talked about how to take care of yourself after an audition this time I talk about what I've done give myself some love before an audition and get myself in the mood to have fun.
