My dreams?
I dream, a lot.
I dream about freedom, about nature, about adventure, about love.
About contentment, about happiness, about loving myself.
About fearless days, about worriless nights, about stars and sunsets, and wind in my hair.
And times come that I fall out of love with my dreams. Because they seem so far, far away. Unreachable. It hurts.
It hurts to see perfection whenever I close my eyes. To see goals I can’t chase, places I can’t go, people I can’t meet. I can’t. Because my dreams fly off where I can’t follow. So high. So fast. And I am left, my feet clued to the ground, staring helpless as they disappear into the sunlight.
They blind me. Stop me from seeing the world as it is, my life as it is. The beauty, the love, the happiness. Things I should be grateful for, things I should appreciate. But I am blind. Blind for this. Blind for the ordinary, for the normal, for my life.
I chase and chase and chase and I know I can’t ever reach it. But how does one stop?
How does one stop chasing their dreams?
They say to never give up. That everything is possible. That all dreams come true.
Can dreams be toxic?
Can they ruin you?
Because I think mine are doing just that…
