Welcome to Legends of the New Republic! We're a Star Wars book club podcast reading through Legends novels starting just after Return of the Jedi. Each week we get through a handful of chapters of a book and discuss what we like and anything interesting that we uncover. We also end up on rabbit trails... a lot.
If you like Star Wars and want to revisit the Star Wars That Came Before then Legends of the New Republic is the podcast for you. On the other hand, if you've never heard of Legends or read any of the old canon Star Wars novels, neither has Jay, so you'll be in good hands.
We're a podcast that celebrates inclusivity and positivity in the Star Wars fandom. We've made it our mission to enjoy and poke gentle fun at the strange peaks and troughs of Star Wars Legends but we prefer to focus on the fun and interesting rather than denigrate the authors of any work of fiction. Writing a book, even a sub-par book is still an accomplishment and we're here as fans, not as critics.

We flash back to the past both in today's chapter and in the present as Jay takes her turn to vent about Chapter 3 being entirely absent from the audiobook version
We discuss our overall thoughts on Truce at Bakura and discuss what comes next for Legends of the New Republic!
Editors Note: Due to a technical issue Jay's outro was inaudible and had to be cut. Apologies for any confusion, she was present, but the audio failed to pick up her outro.
We venture forth into chapter 15 to face the twin topics of Eppie Belden's Revolutionary Internet Squad and whether Ssi-Ruuk can actually have developed spaceflight using only 3 clawed fingers.
We're back on track with Popeye 3P0 cruising the streets of Salis D'aar, Luke Skywalker eating for three, and more as we try our best to get through Chapter 14 of Truce at Bakura!
This week Kat leads the crew as David was MIA. Will we manage to get through Chapter 13? And more importantly will they successfully cast their Han Solo western movie?
Absent Kat this week we dive into chapters 10-11 of Truce at Bakura and end up talking about everything from Force ghosts to Chris's old Pathfinder character.

We manage to get through an entire chapter this week despite numerous rabbit trails!
Editor's note: "Jizz music" is a real thing in Star Wars Legends and has nothing to do with the current slang use of that word. Apparently the editors of the book it was first mentioned in were made aware of the slang meaning but for some reason didn't make the author change it and as a result we're all stuck with it existing.
Thanks for listening! Due to some technical issues Jason does not have an outro this week, but rest assured he is fine and has not been taken by the Imperial Security Bureau or COMPNOR.
We think.
Luke Skywalker returns to the Rebel fleet after the events of Return of the Jedi and we begin our journey through Truce at Bakura by Kathy Tyers.
