This summer I’m imagining days full of sunshine, new beginnings, and new books that I can’t put down. In this episode of Laura’s Library, I’m sharing my Summer 2025 TBR: a list of books filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of longing as I soak up my last summer living in Montreal.
If you're craving beachy romances, heartfelt fiction, or just looking for a fresh reading list to match the summer season, this is your guide. Spoiler alert: I’ve already finished One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune from this list, and it’s a new 5-star, all-time favourite for me.
Here’s to carefree afternoons, iced teas, and new books that stay with you.
From one fangirl to another, it's lovely to have you here. Happy reading 🩷☁️
From dreamy solo dates to cozy routines and emotional maturity, in this episode, I share how I bring romance book energy into my real life. There’s something quietly beautiful about turning the ordinary into something out of an Elsie Silver or Emily Henry book.
Being the main character isn’t about perfection, it’s about embracing what makes you, you, and celebrating every beautiful, imperfect moment. From one fangirl to another, it's lovely to have you here and happy reading 🩷☁️

We’ve all had those moments wondering if we’ll end up alone, questioning where life (and silly situationships) are taking us, and feeling the pressure to “put yourself out there” - whatever that actually means. Whether you’ve never been in a relationship or you’re healing from one, that fear can creep in. But here’s the thing—life is so much bigger than just romantic love, and feeling uncertain is completely valid.
In this episode we dive into the powerful role books can play in shifting your perspective. From stories that embrace heartbreak and healing to nonfiction reads that redefine what love truly means, I’m sharing my experience and book recommendations that help me overcome this fear.
From one fangirl to another, thank you for being here. Happy reading. 🤍

Ever sent a text you instantly regretted? You know, the kind that leaves you spiralling all day—agonized, anxious, and desperately trying to distract yourself from constantly checking your phone? That was me last week. And let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. My overwhelming feelings (with a sprinkle of anxiety) hit such a peak that I couldn’t even escape into a good book. I’d sit down, open a page, and nothing—my brain refused to cooperate. Every word blurred together as my thoughts raced a mile a minute.
But hey, at least something productive came from that mess: the idea for this podcast episode.
In this episode, we dive into the fascinating psychology of how reading impacts our brains—particularly when it comes to stress, anxiety, and emotional processing. I also share book and genre recommendations to help you find the perfect read for those moments when life feels overwhelming.

Let’s dive into the genre that's been taking over the book world this past year: the delicate blend of romance and fantasy— known as "romantasy."
In this episode, I’ll talk you through must-read romantasy books and series that will not only capture your heart but also keep you on the edge of your seat. (Wink wink, Fourth Wing & the SJM universe.)
Royal Court of Romantasy: Must-reads and where to start if you're new to the genre
Mundanes of Romantasy: Series that didn't hit and lack that magical spark
Potential Hidden Gems: Romantasy series I've started and want to continue

Welcome to Laura’s Library, a podcast inspired by my love of reading and the feeling of being a little lost in my twenties as I navigate evolving friendships, a new career, heartbreak and inevitable growing pains. Reading is that one friend you can always count on to quiet your mind, followed immediately by the joy of a new character, world, or best of all, an enemies to lovers story.
Join me as I start each episode with a bookish quote to set the mood, followed by deep dives into reviews, rants, recommendations, genre explorations, and a whole lot of literary fun.
If you swoon for Rhysand or Xaden like I do, you're in for a treat.
And if you don’t know who they are, you have some listening (and reading) to do.
From one fangirl to another, it’s lovely to have you here.
Happy Reading.
…with love, with reading, with new characters, with new worlds, and with me potentially. Welcome to Laura’s Library, a podcast inspired by my love of reading and the feeling of being lost in my twenties as I navigate heartbreak, career changes, new friendships, and growing pains. Books became my safe space and I want to share my love for reading with the world (from the comfort of my couch, in a cozy hoodie, with no one to stop me from talking your ear off).
