Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Over the last few months, Blue and I have been having fun discussing monsters in the geeky culture that pops while the world around us is just bonkers in real life. We decided it was time to discuss some real monsters… fascists. We relate the conversation more to geek properties than politics but the subtext is there. Fascism sucks and here’s any trigger warning you might need for a deeper and more real talk than normal. According to George Orwell, telling the truth is a revolutionary act and this is our small part in not being complicit. The timing felt right and necessary and I hope you agree.

Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This level of the podcast is a wayback brought to you by a great comic book monster conversation and the realization that this gem fromSeptember 24, 2017 never transitioned to the current batch of episodes. Let’s activate the wayback and head to the very first CBM Defenders episode ever. A younger podcast and one hell yeah example of a good time. Enjoy!
In blackest day... some comic book movies seem indefensible. But who is out there to try and make light of even the worst comic book movies. Who defends even them? Well constant listener, that's where Blue and I decided it was high time someone heroically tried to do just that. This regular episode of life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff marks the inaugural issue of Blue and Wookiee, The (CBM) Defenders. We start our journey with a super-powered defense of Spawn (1997). Basically the good, the bad, and the ugly about the film where we finish with some positivity and why the movie might be worth watching as a geek and/or comic book movie enthusiast. Not an easy feat but a lot of fun to do. Keep an eye out for bonusodes in the future with this concept in mind. Just because we wanted to flesh out the episode some, we also briefly chatted about the death of comic book legend Len Wein, the inspiration for the planet in Avatar, a brief discussion of Luke Skywalker going dark, the awesome Bladerunner 2049 shorts, and then jokes about Daredevil singing with his feet.

Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Way back on Aug 13, 2016… I started on a podcast journey and somehow nine years have gone by. As always happens after a year, we recap the best of the previous one. 49 episodes that includes 8 proper news episodes, 2 waybacks for my kiddo, 4 poopshoots, 3 Geek’s Watches, and then 32 episodes I highly recommend. Turns out Blue and I recommend 18 more than others. We picked our ten favorites (* in front of each / BOLD = Me / Italics = Blue) and chat a bunch about the last year. Enjoy!

Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Well hey howdy hey. America just celebrated a holiday or at least had a day off to contemplate thing. Whenever this time comes around, my head always turns to one movie. Two notes and you’re transported away to a small beach town terrorized. In the spirit of that, Blue and I talk all about Jaws, shark movies, and just sharks in general. A great conversation I hope y’all enjoy as much as we did having it. Hope it’s a good time and you don’t need a bigger podcast. Until next time, Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies.

Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Holy schmoley we hit 450 levels and you know what that means? Marshall Danny the Deuce and Blue show up for an extravaganza and this time it’s not just one but two Torments. We tackle a Part 2 for the MCU and then get weird by making our favorite weirdos from Level 264 battle to the death. Lots of fun and a big way to celebrate a whole butt ton of episodes. Lots of fun getting a little bonkers with the boyohs. The brackets are at the bottom of the notes if you're curious... the rankings for the MCU come from Rotten Tomatoes, Imdb, and metacritic. Enjoy!
